I hate the word Newbie

ok, so I'm new the the Forum but not to the tuner life... My frist project car was a 98 Eagle Talon TSI AWD. Spend about $5500 and 2 summers of work. 292HP 302TQ.( not bad for 5500 spent from stock) well when i was working on that car I bought a 91 Cav. RS 5-speed. for $700. bought it since it was a stick and I needed to clean-up my shifts(didn't want to rip out the clutch in the Talon)... needless to say in two years i put 35,000 miles on it and tore the @!#$ out of it... tho I did fix it... rebuilt the engine, low miles used tranny, and new clutch... and little stuff here and there.. well the Cavi had been sitting in my Garage for 2 years not not even started for a year.. went to spring clean the garage and I woundered what it would do, I charged the battery and best you as s it started, rough but it did. give it a tune-up. drainded the gas and added new.. took it out on the road in front of my house and with a little water, she smoked the tires like she was at the track. with a hard shift into 2nd she ran the tires there too.... well I think that deserves a new life...
no problems with her
1 Passenger side door was saggin so much I took it off and can't find replacement hinge.
2 Cooling fan switch had gone out. (she got hot durring the 2nd burnout)
3 Front bumper sag on Pass. side.
4 Driver window track all kindas of messed up.
5 no head liner
6 mold in seats and carpet, she was left in the elements with no door for a year (yet to rip out carpet and check floorpans.
all then the bunch of little stuff. shes a good ol' car. don't want to let her die.
ok now things I kinda plan.
Ext.
Weld the door shut, and cut the window tracks off and remove door windows. Only problem with that my best friend is 6' 9" hes not going ot be able to get in the window (hes tried very funny to watch) so I figured a permanetly removed Targa Top might work well. (a Canvas top for pop-up indiana rain storms) A little reforcement in the doors should hold the body.
I have Chevy OEM "Burnt Orng." Paint sitting and waiting, just hope its still good. with a little metal flake it would have a nice clean pop at you color.
looking around at hoods, not really sure yet something simple
a good 17in rim... I like the Colbalt SS rims. if I can find a wrecked one with good rims and still have the Prellies(spell) on it I will be a happy man.
as for a body kit.. very much wanted. but I hate having to spend between 1 and 2 grand on a 4 piece kits with the 95 and up modles are like $400. I mean come on.

Engine
at the moment it is a stock 2200. I may sound like a idiot but it is Carbarated, or Fuel inj. I understand inj. and I understand carb. worked on them both but what is it when the fuel is sparyed in the intake like a carb, but yet not like a carb... sorry i haven't done that research yet. yea i know very little abotu this engine, if you have any info about this engine PLEASE post it.
Turbocharge it, From the research i have done the engine should hold up to 9PSI of boost and be ok I saw the part list for adding a turbo on here, but anyone have any walk thoughs on it?? I have a T-4 Turbo off of a 94 talon if I'm correct pushed about 7PSi of boost. just looking for a exsuast header.
I would like to see if hit 200HP I know thats 102HP gain but I dream high...

thats where i stand at the moment on this ( 2weks of thinking). if you have any other ideas, or comments on things that may not work PLEASE let me know
Thanx
P.s. Anyone know where I can get instrustions on MIG welding.

The 2200 was available from 98-02. The 91 Rs you have has the 2.2 OHV or the maybe the 2.0OHV if it was swapped(same has the 2200 but ALOT older and different desing).

It is TBI. Fuel injected but only 1 injector.

Good luck at boosting the TBI. If you want to boost it, start looking for the MPFI conversion.

Being that it's a TBI 2.2L, I'd be thinking engine swap rather than trying to boost it. 2nd gen J-cars are infinitly easier to swap vs 3rd gens, and basically any 4 or 6 cylinder GM engine is open to you. Two most common being the HO 2.3L Quad 4 or the supercharged 3.8L. The HO Quad stuff is easily grabbed from a boneyard Beretta, Grand Am or Achieva, while the 3.8L requires a bit more custom fabrication.

Ground effects? 1991-1994 Z24 bumpers, skirts and spoiler. Call it a day. ALWAYS have wanted to see an Orange stock-ish 1994 Z24.

Cobalt rims won't bolt up to a cav/sunfire

By the way, I noticed MFK-223 wrote

"It is TBI. Fuel injected but only 1 injector."

In this instance yes. There are vehicles out there that are TBI that have 2 injectors.

TBI stands for "Throttle Body Injection".

I'm a "noob" to the site, but I've been a mechanic for about 5 years now, and have been tearing my own cars apart since '95. I still learn something new everyday, and don't know nearly as much as I should after that amount of time. I look forward to learning more, and hope I can contribute in any small way to the community.

The 2.2 TBI has only 1 injector. I know some have more injectors. They wouldn't use 1 injector on the 4.3 Vortec TBI. I only gave him the info he wanted on his engine.

This is ghetto riffic but see if you can put washers between the hinge and the door or a-pillar. I "fixed" my f150 doing that.

Costs less than a single stick of welding rod.

NAPA has door pins with new hinge bushings for $7... if it's the bushing and not the actual hinge that's chewed up...
