ok i just my cav z 24 its a 96 5 speed.. i had it for 3 weeks or somethin like that everything was goin fine... i stopped by tha dry cleenrs to pick up my shirt..got back n tha car turned tha key.. n i kno how it sound when when ur batterys dying...thats what happend... the car didnt really turn over..tried again and i got a bad starter sound..click click ... tried again n nuthin...ABSOLUTELY nuthin...no radio no headlights, no clicking ,nuthin......so i checked tha cables....moved em around a bit got back in tha car and started at where i was in tha beggining (bad battery sound. not quite turning over) so i looked again..tried again nutin.....so i busted out tha jumpers...hooked em up n waited for some one to give me a jump......it didnt werk.... not enuff power to turn tha engine...so kept trying n trying it didnt werk so i pulled the cables off n wired tha jumpers to tha cables... it didnt werk... (not enuff power again) so itried again this time i pumped tha gas...( i noe ur not supposed to on FI engines but i was desperate) so it kinna got goin then died tried it again... it werked i got my car going (with tha cables from the other car off and my cables diconnected from tha battery..(ruled out bad altenator)) so i put my cables back on got to werk n parked my car wwent to go start it up n nuthin.. no radio no lights no clicking... so i took my frens car to walmart with my battery got an everstart 900 amp side post with new cables, Orange blast(for corrosion) and TB cleaner ( just to make sure i was getting fuel..) got back n replaced all cables to tha starter, ground and replaced tha battery..)everything werkin fine went to go start it up after werk n nuthin, no clickin no radio..waited a few tried again n it started up..everything goin good.. made sure all my cables were snugged up .... i went to shift around 45 - 5000 (torque band) the car rocked a lil bit n tha gauges went out tha radio went out all my check engine lights cam on like badttery low , ABS , oil,...etc all of em tha tach read 0 and tha car went DING like u just put tha key in tha ignition..(.note that tha radio station was on tha same station (if this was a POWER loss the radio station woulda reseted..right??) and tha car went ding, and that at first my car runs with out tha battery..) this has been goin on for a few days now...eveytime i hit a bump or tha car jerks (when shifting) tha car resets.. (also not that tha guy before me wanted to rig this car up for PUSH button start... he has a push button on tha dash that is completly inoperable.. he also has a BLUE light about the size of a dime but just a little smaller.. when the starter is engaged..(ignition) the blue light turns on for tha period of time that the starter is on.. so when im hitting bumps now that blue light flickers around when the i hit a bump.. so im not really sure what this problem.. is i mean as far as wher the problem is ...i ruled it out to an igntion wire being loose some where... but tha problem am not sure where the igntion wire runs i noe where evything is but i dont noe if an ignitoin wire runs to computer or not..mechanically im good at stuff but electrically im ok... so my problem is i need some one to let me kno where the igntion wire runs to.....

Alright , well anyway. My car dies and maybe the ignition wire somewhere is not contacting ( at least thats what i think it may be ) .. So please, i need to know the path the ignition wire takes so i can find out ...
Thats not so hard.
but i meen does an igntion wire run to tha ecu or does another one run to like the altenator and then to tha ECU or back to tha starter cuz am getting bad contact somehwere i wanna noe wher to look cuz i werk to much to go find that @!#$.. i werk 14 hours a day 6 - 7 days a week..i aint got time to check em all out tis tha only car i got right now n i gotta drive it like this...

wow you read more then me, after about 5 lines i gave up.
anyway based on JerseyKid's translation im going to suggest you check all your ground wires. but being a 1996, it could be the ECU itself. they where recalled because they are installed in the inner fender and corrode do to water.
call a GM dealer, give them your VIN and check to see if the ECU was ever replaced, if not, i suggest you start by inspecting it.
P.S. theres a spell check button i HIGHLY SUGGEST you use it!!!

Another easy check is the plug at the base of the steering column for the keyswitch. Make sure it's not loose or broken.

Adam: Bite the bullet, consult a professional. Yes, it'll be $100 to diagnose the problem, but just suck it up.
