I have a 1994 Chevy Cavalier Convertible with a 3.1 Liter V-6 Multiport fuel injection engine. Over a 10 day period it went from running fine to sputtering at stops. It would restart but not on first try. It got so bad it finally died all together. When I opened the air cleaner there was a quarter of an inch of gas in the bottom of the air cleaner cyclinder. I hooked a fuel pressure guage and it is all over the map. Tops out at about 47 PSI (within tolerance). Any ideas? Please help. I'd like to fix this myself and save some dough. Thanks, Gary.
I was gonna say bad cat till you brought up the fuel issue. Sorry dude I'm fresh out of ideas.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
there are far too many things that could have gone wrong to pinpoint it here.
my recommendation? swap it out or attempt a rebuild.
I think the wiggly shaft came loose from the wobbly joint.
