Hello from Germany

Hello from Germany. I bought a 1998 Cavalier Z24 in November last year, and it's the best car i ever had. And it's a very rare in Germany, so it was a must for me, to join an US-forum. I hope you will excuse my grammar mistakes. My English reading is much better than writing.

Greetings from Mexico! Glad to see the org is becoming even more international everyday. One thing I don't understand though, do you really prefer American cars over any German cars? I ask you this because in Mexico, in the central part where I come from, people fancy german cars particularly Volkswagen. They are prefered over any other car, depending the economical and social status. Rich chaps buy BWM's and Mercedez Benz. Don't you think volkswagen is a good car branch?

If God appeared suddently and told me "I'm going to give you a reward"(well deserved :p). "You can get either a Chevrolet Corvette or a VW which one will you choose?" I wouldn't hesitate and I'd take the VW. But that's just me. VW was part of my family and my environment for quite a while back in the day when I lived in Mexico City, and they are good cars, in overall.

@IZN TRBL: The pictures are now online.

KavaLieR_GT: Yes, I really love American Cars! The bigger the better *g* but for now I need a daily driver and so I bought this 4-cyl. and I am very happy with it. Things like the red turning lights (or corner lights? german = Blinker) are nice. Same for the small plates.
US-Cars are something special in Germany. German cars (and others like korean, japanese, ...) are everywhere, US-cars not! I think it's the same in Mexico - US-cars are everywhere, german cars are not!
And I believe that VW makes good cars, but I never liked them.

@cannon fodder: Thanks for the link. I am also in a club = ami-forum.de Maybe your buddy is also there???

@all: Thanks.

@ IGOPOGO : Can't customize my Cav. as much as I want, because all the tuning parts are from the USA and are not street legal in germany. Some parts maybe legal after an individual check by the german TUV (sth. like "Technical Supervision Association") and that's cost intensive. To see all the nice Cavaliers here makes me sad. But I will install a custom exhaust, a custom CAI, tint my rear windows and will do some work with the interior like velours/leather and other carpets (that stock-one looks really cheap).

@ Brian Anderson: I know, "cannon fodder" told me before. And yes it's Blue Deuce. I've signed up to his forum yesterday... His blue Cavalier is nice, too *g*

Wieder Willkommen!

For those who don't speak German...

Hello, friend. Welcome to the JBO. What part of Germany are you from? I am American born but much of my family is from Munich. My German is a little rough but I'd be more than happy to help you out if you need it. Again, welcome!
