It's been a while since I've been I've been on this site, so I thought was only appropriate to reintroduce myself. Not too many people here know me, that's okay, for those who do know me, I look forward to talking to you again. I was in a car accident a while back and I spent quite a bit of time in the hospital so I've missed out on a lot as of late. My old Cavalier, a '97 RS, was completely totalled when I rolled it during a snow storm. I was going a little too fast and was rewarded with a concussion and some broken bones, but I'm a survivor, it didn't kill me and I'm a little wiser for it. Anyway, I picked up another Cavalier last month just like mine from one of the locals that also was a member of the 'org. He decided to move on to other things, I needed a car, so here I am. And so now I'm going to start the process all over again. Anyway, to the true newbies, welcome to the 'Org. I'm glad to be back.
Be kind to dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
Welcome back. So no more speed racer in the snow huh ? Good to hear.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
Lol. Yeah, no more speed racer in the snow. Dry pavement only. I'm going to get this car fixed up and hopefully keep on all 4s and out of the ER. The upside was my nurse was a total hottie. I've given consideration to wrecking again so I could go back and see her some more but my luck would I'd get the fat one with the mustache and funky accent.

welcome back to the J>B>O>. sorry to hear about you're accident.i'm not gonna knock you for it, because i've been in two accidents already. the main thing is that you learn from such a foolish mistake and move on.i was almost killed in a daytona rolling down a cliff.the car had t-tops and i fell out while the car was upside down(you fill in the rest, i'm not saying anymore about it) i AM very luck to be alive.period. then about a full year later. i hit an icy patch on the road and lost control.through my car up an embankment and slid on roof almsot 80 ft. my friend crawled out and cut my safety belt off and pulled me out. 2 minutes later the car caught fire.(you fill in the rest) so yeah, anyone who reads this and was in an accident can probably relate.sometimes u gotta learn the hard way, but at least you learn. now i keepit STRICTLY at the track.
People say that what doesn't kill you in this life
will make you stronger. I'm not sure if that is true
or not, but i do know one thing-You have to learn from
it and it has to make you better.......it has to.......
Well, I wasn't racing. I was driving too fast, yes, but not racing. I was doing about 70, but there had been a lot of snow coming down just before the accident, and the road had patches of ice (typical Iowa winter). Everything seemed okay, there wasn't any traffic to speak of, and I wasn't noticing anything with the way the car was handling so I didn't sweat it. I was on the curved bridge portion of what we call in Des Moines the 'mix master". Basically it's a cloverleaf interchange for I80, I235, and I35. The car slid over to the outer shoulder , clipped the guardrail, spun around, and went over the edge. The bank was pretty steep, I lost it. The car rolled over a couple times and landed on its side at the bottom of the bank. I'm lucky I went off where I did because if I would have missed the bank or went over the guardrail it would have been a long drop to the interstate below. If anything, I can tell people from experience they need to slow down when the roads are bad. I've driven in Iowa winters for years and never had a problem, but it finally caught up to me.

sad story
welcome back, hopefully all is healed well
Yeah. The doctor told me I'll be up and running in no time. I get the cast off my arm next week and I already got the stiches out of my head. Probably gonna have a cool scar now, so I can finally lose the pretty boy image.
