Can someone tell me if this is a Z-24 ?
no. it will say Z24 somewhere on the car
looks like a Cavalier RS to me
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Nope RS.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
Not the best pic, but here's an example of a Z24 that's on Auto Trader right now...
Aw...You sure it's not? If you zoom in on this pic it looks like it has Cavalier in smaller writing on the side, then a big Z, then 24 in smaller writing...
Sorry if I'm being a pain, I don't know much about cars.
Did the Z-24 even come without the nicer looking ground effects and spoiler?
You're not being a pain at all, Syama. We're all here to help ya out.
You can definitely trust what 99redz24 and Jackalope said. The car you're looking at isn't a Z. The door emblem says "Cavalier RS." Sorry to disappoint ya. Lemme know if you need anything else.
Forgot your other question...
To my knowledge, no Z24, or LS Sport for that matter, was ever offered without some type of factory ground effect/aero package on it.
Still not a slow choice.....doesn't the RS have like 180 torque?
I have one true love in my life...And my girlfriend sits next to me in it
If I'm not mistaken, you could either get the 2.0L I4 or 2.8L V6 on the RS. The 2.0 should be good for 90/109 (HP/torque) and the 2.8 for (125/160)in 1988 and 1989.
The RS isn't a bad place to start, especially if you're looking into aftermarket body kits anyway. (i.e. no real need to opt for the Z24 if you're only going for the look of the better factory ground effects.) If it's an RS with the 2.8 and manual tranny in good shape, it would be a pretty tempting place to start. I'm just not a big fan of an auto trans. ESPECIALLY the 3 speed auto trans. I had one in my 1991 Beretta GT and hated it. But that might just be me.
Thanks for the help guys. Maybe I'll still pick the car up...Since it's advertised for $400 obo...
Is it hard to find stock ground effects for these cars? I live in Hawaii so if it's difficult on the mainland it'll be very difficult over here...
