Well my muffler on my 98 Sunfire is starting to rot out. So what kinda muffler should i replace it with? Its the stock exhaust system but i plan on upgrading it in about a year or so but for now i need one. I just want one that has a nice growl to it when goin down the road. Nothing ricey just a nice tone to it for about 100 bucks

Borla Pro XS. Under $100, has a nice tone to it, flows well, and looks almost stock.

I know you meant "resonator" lol

The answer is no. You don't have to have one with any muffler if you don't want to. The resonator just keeps the tone down on your exhaust system but it's really up to you.

Honestly, I wouldn't know. It all depends what you call raspy or bad sounding.

i would get the Borla but its alittle high priced unless i can find a place that sells them for under 100. i checked summit racing they want 145 and Jegs doesn't have the Pro XS. The Magnaflow ones Jegs has for like 75 bucks.

Trust me...just get a Magnaflow stainless muffler. If you get one by itself and pick a tip you like, you'll be set. I'll see if I can find some sites for them.

Cherrybomb from Autozone. $35.00, looks like the stock exhaust, flows nice. You'll need a resonator if you want it to be quiet, though. And you'll need to choose a tip for it.
