I am going to order some front and rear strut tower bars as a Christmas present to myself, but I'm wondering what would be my best next step. I'm thinking of a set of agx's with the prokit, but maybe better tires would be a better idea?
I'm still rolling on the stock 14" steelies. Tires, and rims would cost more, and I'm not that huge on getting a set of flashy rims. But if the gains in handling would be WAY better with tires than suspension upgrades... then I'd go with those.
Subframe brace, helps loads too.
Check out the suspension forum, Good stuff in there.
As long as your tires are gripping properly and you're not pushing them, you should be fine on your current tires. If you want actual better handling, you could aim for a sway bar set. Eibach makes a nice set for the J-body platform, as well as Addco.
As far as lowering it, that will improve handling a good bit and that setup you want is actually a well matched setup. I'm a big fan of Eibach springs so maybe it's a bit biased but I believe that's a good spring set and the AGXs are nice and adjustable.
I don't know how far you want to go with suspension though...there are a couple other things you can do but that might be going over what you're looking for and more money than you want to spend on suspension alone. Hopefully this has helped you out.
Good luck with your strut bar set.

I would go with lowering the car first. a car with rims that has not yet been lowered just doesn't look good. I went with the sportlines on stock shocks/struts for over a year now and at first it was on my stock tires(16" Z24 rims) but still the handleing was awsome........then I saved up and got rims and tires and all I can say is WOW. it is deffinatly worth saving up to do what you want.
