reality just kicked in huh?
Whats not the problem.
First i just bought the car this Feb. and started working on it. Then a month later i had to let my mother-in-law borrow it and finally got it back this week.
She tore the entire body kit off of it hitting curbs.
Hit one curb so hard that it bent the pass side rim.
Lost the hood pins and decided to drive it, shattering the hood and windshield.
tore up the interior and now it smells like cig smoke.
didn't change the oil the whole time she had it which equalled 10k miles and ran the slave cylinder reservoir dry several times.
oh and not to mention the car is pearl black and now has scratches and dents all over it.
so then last night i get my new ss hood in, get it primed and all modified to fit perfect, spent 4 hours getting it right and i go out this morning and some drunk azz little college kids were playing football in the parking lot and split my brand new hood straight through the middle of the hood and now the stupid car is throwing a check engine light.
i am so close to just setting it on fire and buying a YUGO or something.

lol, kinda hard to whoop-em when i am wheel chair bound. lol it just keeps getting better, i park my car in a friggin handicapped spot, becuase i am handicapped, and just 5 minutes ago i got a call from the apartment complex manager saying that they were having the parking lot pot holes fixed and the guy in the tar truck just backed into my car. i am afraid to hop my happy ass into my wheelchair and even go look at it so i am just gonna stay in the apartment the rest of the day.

Have you mother in law pay for damages due to her neglete of your ca. Have the guy with the truck for for his damages and the CEL. I doubt he's know if he did it or not. Then sell it and buy a kia.
lol, my mother in law still owes me and my wife 5k that we loaned her, so that part is hopeless. i know that the apartment complex has said they will pay for any damages, but i love my cavi other than the fact that i have bad luck with it and the one that ran me over.

well it doesn't seem to me like its the cavy's fault.. sorry to hear that... thats your first mistake letting your mother in law of all people drive it... sounds to me like she doesn't have any respect.. that would be the straw that broke the camals back in my book.... unless you really like her which I find hard to beleive I would take her ass to small claims court... my car is everything to me if something like that would happen to me I would have her ass on a "gold" platter...

Well after thanksgiving when i was what she had done to the car i flipped, to put it nicely we are no longer on speaking terms and she wont even talk to her own daughter, which my wife was a little upset becuase i basically kicked her out of our house and she had to find a way to get back home.

If i had a digital camera i would take some. i went and checked out the car and all it did was bust the tail light when the truck hit it, so it is not as bad as i was thinking it was going to be,

damn man thats some bad luck dude. i would never let anyone that has such little respect for a vehicle even come near my car.

well the thing with me letting her borrow it was basically up to my wife since the car is in her name and at the time she was paying the car payment. the situation with the car almost terminated our marriage.

from the sounds of things, it sounds like her monther in law can't afford it if she is living with her kids.. or on drugs orsomething... my aunt was freaking fried out of her mind and she had no respect for nthing and seems like she was buming off of whoever she could. it sucks but we pretty much kicked her ass out of the family.

I agree tell her that she disrespected your property and that she needs to find some way to pay for it. If she doesnt then take her to court and let them decide how she is going to pay for this. And like others said, dont let people drive your car. She shouldnt get away with messing up your car and not doing a damn thing about it to fix it.
