cant decide

Hey I'm buying a new car but I cant make up my mind. I have a choice to pick between a 98 monte z-34 and a 99 z24. I want q reliable car but I want to mod it to run like mid 12's. Which one do u guys think is the better choice. (Despite the fact that this is a jbody forum)

a 99 z24 is gonna be hard to put in to the mid 12's with out a turbo and poteinly some internals. no one on hear has done it yet NA. besides KARO so yeah. but I think youd be suprised how fast a 13 second car feels.

He's right. Only way you're hitting 12s in our cars is by investing a good amount of money into a Turbo Setup or Nitrous + Internals.

I mean, if you look at Karo, he's a complete drag car, drag tires, gutted interior, fully rebuilt motor from top to bottom, fiberglass body and he's hitting high 12s...see our point?

The 3800 of course has lots of potential but there is lots of work, time and money to get it even inside your car...more than you might want to spend on your cavalier.

With a turbo setup, 13s are very possible. Hitting 12s is very hard without doing motor work and even harder with traction issues. Also, tuning is VERY important.

Either way it will take a good amount of money to accomplish a goal like this and it will take alot of work and/or money to do this.

Hey man thanks but I got to the lot today and saw that beautiful z24 and couldn't resist so I went with the z24. Thanks guys and I plan on doing what it takes to at least hit mid, high 13's. And she hauls ass smoked 2 civics on the ride home. Awesome car.
