Is it possible to put a NorthStar v8 in a 2 door 1995 Pontiac Sunfire and make it work?
crazy or just insane tell me what you think.
not without some extremely severe fabrication done to the engine bay... there's just not enough room in there as is for that big of an engine.
can it be done? with enough money, yes... but in all practicality, it's just not feasable.
^^ brings back memories of that cavalier on ebay with the v8 mmmmmmmm *makes me drool

Anything is possible with enough money and skill.
Is it simple or practical? No.
Crazy........Yes
Insane.....Yes
Possible..Yes

Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
Honestly, when you ask a question like that and say that it would be cool, IMO, you don't have enough knowledge to do it.

i would think its possible the 4.2(i think) northstar isnt that big.

i think someone said the engine itself would fit, but the tranny wont

The V-6 engine is a tight squeez and you want to add 2 more?
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
i guess no one read my link where it said the engine will fit but not the tranny
It won't physically fit in the bay with a tranny like BaggedCav98 said. The Northstar engine and tranny is about 27 inches tall from pan to manifold. The engine and trans width from pully to trans case is 36 or 37 inches wide across IIRC, and the width from cam cover to cam cover on the heads is around 28 inches.
The 4T80E transmission alone weighs in at 300+ pounds.
Any J-Body engine Bay. The only real way to make a Cavy V8 powered is to have RWD
They put that motor in the Pontiac Fiero so with some custom fabrication you should be able to make it fit in a Cav or Sun Fire.
I always thought the Fiero was a Mid-Engine car? As for the RWD aspect, you would have to find the whole geometry of a new suspetion package for front and rear, cut a section of floor pans out for the driveshaft tunnel and find some way to make all this fit into a cavy or sunfire without spending well over 30K. Possible: Yes, Feasable:No way in Hell.

There is a thread where a person details how he put a 3800 in his car (with lots of pictures). With all the trouble he had putting that v6 in there, I would doubt you'd want to go through the hassle of a v8. I suggest you check out the thread (sorry, don't thave the link though).
hye guys is it possible to put a v-16 engine in a minicooper? its be double sweer if you could be 2 in.
