I did a search and I couldn't find nothing.
I found a donor car for my ecotec swap
What I wanna know is, does it really have an ecotec?
I know late 2002 cavalier got an ecotec. But I think it was in a specific model.
How can I know it as an ecotec, I mean the car is far from my house, so I can't go take a look...
The car will be dropped at my house if I bought it...
specs :
2002
base model
Manual. 2.2l gas engine
52 000 km
asked price : 2300 $CAN
Rear and side scrap... But the mechanic is ok
HELP!!!
Thx

I'm officially an Ecotec whore!
In 2002, the ECOTEC was found in the LS Sports and possibly some Z24 packages. Only way to know for sure is by asking them to pop the hood.

I agree no ecotec in that car at all. It has the rear of an LS Sport and I think someone was probably trying to do the conversion. However it has hub caps, and the blue emblem, no fog lamps, and no front valance which suppports the guy calling it a base model. But then again we could be wrong. Best thing to do is call the place selling the car and ask them for the full vin number. Run the vin through car fax and it should come back and 2.2L I4 DOHC if it is the ECOTEC. If it comes back as 2.2L I4 OHV then it is not.
Defined Parts
The 7th digit from left to right is the engine code. Ecotecs would be a "F" for normal ecotec.
