I have a 96 Cavy, 5spd, and it didnt come with a tach on the gauges, so. i grabbed a cluster off of ebay, and i havent paid for it yet, but i was wondering, could i throw that cluster in my dash and have the tach function?

same year as yours? if so yes. otherwise just put down what year it is and then you'll get an exact answer on what you'll need to do to get it to fully work.

If i didn't have a Tach before, do you think i need a tach wire? (or something like that) and where would it be located if i did have one.

it'll plug right in and read the pulses for the tach, No need for another wire

well if one is a 96 and the other is a 97, it should just plug right in and work. the only time you should need a extra tach wire is if you put in an aftermarket pizza cutter one.

Cool, so. the wire should be there, even though i don't have a tach right now?
