newb question but here goes, i need help....

heres the story:
i recently found this under around the engine bay when i was adding my WAI a few weeks back. i laid it aside thinking it might be just part of the stock intake box. the one i have is black and when felt it is hard rubber. i later noticed that when i drive at lower speeds along with at lower rpms i hear a rattle noise coming from the front of the car, but only when driving; idling theres no noise. i looked around until now and i saw similair pics like the one pictured and its a tranny mount. if it is the tranny mount then how would i go about and reinstall the mount under my car again? any instructions/pics? i plan on getting aftermarket tranny mounts but if the noise is from the tranny being loose then i want to fix it ASAP. thanks in advance.

I noticed that you're an automatic. They don't make aftermarket tranny mounts for your car...are you sure it's your tranny mount?

Best thing I can suggest is that if it is your tranny mount, take it to a shop to look at it and install it. Having lack of support for your transmission is nothing to play with so let a pro do it.

wait wait wait...clear something up real quick...you were installing your intake and that piece was laying under your car disconnected, or... you were installing your intake, saw that piece, and removed it?

i don't see why either would be the case. not like those things just fall off all the time. and only an idiot would just remove a part from their car without knowing what it is or what they're doing...

GO PATS!!!

those are exactly what i use at work for under electrical boxes that they use for cabs. (basically a big metal box with a ton of wires) there on the back of the box to help protect it and let it slide around from getting scratched. reason im sayin all this mumbo jumbo is those dont look like tranny mounts to me. maybe there to protect something not sure

hmm ic, good point there tyler, now that you mentioned it, and looking everywhere else online for something that closely resembles the piece and found it! damnit, its the piece that came with the WAI. i layed the pieces of the WAI on the pavement, and my driveway's ona slight incline, and when i took everything out of the box, everything fell onto the ground(damn ppl cant put crap security over the mail, not to mention it was tampered with). so the piece might of rolled away from everything else, its round so it possibly slid under the car. i was excited that it came in and rushed to put it on, plus it was freakishly hot that day.....thanks again guys for your knowledge. ....feel like an idiot right now, blah

looks like the flex (soft) mounts for my AEM intake... they allow the intake to flex with the engine... but i have a CAI mine attatched to the wheel well inside of the bay. i doubt a WAI has those???
