mike... that would spell VVTLEC, not VTEC.
finally, ecotec is called ecotec probably because it's an advanced sounding name but still get that ecology and economy in there with the eco, implying a clean, nice, cheap to use, but still cutting-edge engine.

I was just letting you guys know that MiKeDiRnTRuLeZ is on the right track it is actualy Variable Valve Timing and Electronic lifting Control I use to have one and still have my hans book and for any one that gets Sport Compact Car mag. or Super Street you will know that is all that they put in those d@$n thing I hope that someday ill see more Freaking J's in thoes mag. not every on likes Import S%&T I hated my civic that I sold it a week after I had it I love my J {what was I drinking} I dont Know what the ECOTEC stands for but is almost the same as vetec but beter.
