Soon-to-be owner of an 01 Black Cavi Coupe

Well, my 92 Grand Am is worn the fugg out. Tranny's slippin, brakes are goin, and front axle is either greaseless or its just going bad too (too laze to see if I've got a busted boot). So, I need a new(ish) car.

My fiance's father's friend rebuilds "totalled" cars, and for CHEAP. He's got a black 2001 Cavalier coupe with a 5-spd that I'm buying for a grand total of $2000. Had very light hit on front end, didn't even blow the bags. Soon as its fixed in a couple weeks, its mine. Woohoo!

Planned mods? Dash cover, maybe gauges and maybe a shifter knob. Thats probably it, I'm not real into the whole money sink customizing thing. But, thought I'd just give a holler!

Forgot to mention, only 45,000 miles on it. Still has that new car smell.

Well, given that quote you will be a happy Cavalier owner. I can't count all the people here who have invested tons of money in a car they are never happy with. Then, they end up selling it for pennies on the dollar. Makes no sense to me.

Base. Steel wheels, no power stuff. I don't think it even has a CD player (the dash was taken apart when I saw it, and the radio wasn't there).

Yeah. The dash has some cracks in it caused by too much sun, so I'm getting a dash cover and I'll probably buy some seat covers (the tan fabric on the seats is hideous), and thats it. I may buy a set of rims when I go for new tread down the road, just depends.
