i have a turbo kit an order this is what it incudes
Garrett T3 Turbo w/external wastegate,
Turbo Manifold,
Greddy Type S Blow Off Valve,
Piping with custom welds,
Vacuum Lines, Oil Feed Lines,
Oil Return Lines,
Manifold Gasket,
T3 Gasket,
Silicone Boots,
vortec fmu,
flange for custom dwn pipe,
front mount intercooler,
Clamps, and all necessary hardware for installation
my real question is will it mess with the ecu at all and screw it up or will i be fine? is there any thing else i am missing i plan on running between 6-8 psi to start off. later upgrade the injectors and fuel pump to boost more. welding the pipes and removing the boots and clams will come first though. my
get an SAFC and get it tuned
yay runnin mid 18s by summer
so get the air to fuel converter and get it tuned what about the ecu will it harm it untill i get this mod, the kit i am getting comes with a vortec fmu
i wouldn't worry about it yet, but if want more boost you'll need to get a controller, a company called FAST makes one for custom applications. I don't know how to get one yet but i'll look.

thanks alot its just people around here in nebraska are saying the ecotec cant handle boost with out an ecu upgrade, i think at low boost it will be fine
you'll just need to disable the speed limiter if you want to go over 107, they explain it somewhere on this site, i'm guessing your car is a 5 speed
yay runnin mid 18s by summer
^^^actually as I understand it that info has been removed due to stupid kids. and why would u NEED to go over 107. Anyways as long as you have the FMU you should be fine at that PSI. As I understand it.

sounds good
1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
^^^^ true that, but one of my buddies was spraying at the track and hit the limiter and blew the intake manifold of his car, thats what i was talking about, but you'll be fine with that much boost

sounds to me that he is geting the cavalier extreme stage 3 kit . i am looking to buy that kit my self with the help of sun cavie
is this kit from maximumboost.net? Anyone ever bought fromt them?
Yeah, invest in either an SAFC-2 or an Greddy E-manage because that FMU probably won't do crap for you. Also...when the GM charger comes out, GM will be offering a reflash for any boosted ECOTEC J-bodies...get that! A tuning is a defenite yes...a fuel adjustment when boosted is a must.
One thing that some people forget about but it is spark. You might want to invest in an MSD Ignition system for a better spark and you'll gain some good power out of it but I can understand if you want to put it off, it's pricey to get it to completely work (Ask Rodimus Prime). You should be ok with stock ignition for now as long as your doing a decent amount of boost.
Good luck with the turbo kit.

Thats some crappy advice. Expically coming from someone who dosent have a turbo on his car to back that up.
If the reflash ever comes out it you cant use it unless you have a 2 bar map sensor and larger injectors.
Read through the boost forum and get some real advice on fuel management. Megasquirt is another option.

I said
probably. Your right, I don't have boost but he should still invest in either of those products for insurance. The only reason I said it might not work cause I have friends who had issues with them...but your right, I don't have boost but doesn't mean that I don't know anything about it. Just because I don't own a dishwasher, doesn't mean I don't know anything about a dishwasher...see my point?
