whats up everyone . i just got my shift plus in the mail today and it only took maybe 5 minutes to install . i used the connestions they gave me and then electrical taped everything up . i took it for a ride i was goin down the road with it off .. same as before nothin . then i switched to 1 and it took a few seconds for it to grt into it but when it was i can feel and tell the difference . then on the way home a civic with guk pipe and intake wanted to rrace . we raced i b eat him by maybe a car length . i had the setting in 2 . when we stopped and talked he seen in my car and said how did u get ur auto to shift that quick i kinda smiled and said B&M . .... but its funy cause everytime i race a newer civic with few mods i always seem to get further behind when i shift cause it takes so long without the shift plus . but now i stay ahead . its awesome . best mod for 40 bucks . recommend this to anyone with a 4 speed auto .
now all i need is my header i ordered from pacesetter and my fenders to put my body kit on .
i was also wondering . i kno many people on her wit the shift plus run it on 1 daily all the time . i plan on runnin it on 1 for good now . but could i run it on 2 ? would it be safe ? and do i need to get better tranny fluid now ? i love this mod man .... awesome .
How can the guy tell your auto tranny is shifting "faster"? They shift incrediblely fast as it is. I thought that shiftplus thing took it farther into the rpms or something? Am I mistaken?

you can tell from outside the car even that it shifts quicker. The difference between off and 2 is insane.
I daily drive on 1, and flip to 2 when i need it, but I think its best to leave on 1 its not overly aggressive, altho I dont think leavingit on 2 will be horrid unless you are reving up and gettin on it every time you accelerate.
It doesnt do anything with rpms, i dont know why everyone lately seems to think it does, it doesnt add 500 rpm or anything like that, it increases line pressure, which makes it catch gears faster, and on 2 its easily seen.

Cool thanks for the clear up

It actually increases line pressure, causing it to shift harder. Basically enhances the shift.
I've had one for some time now and i live it. After a while i started to get the track off light and check engine. I think its the crapy clamps that come in the package but i'm to lazy to go buy some more even if its only about 2 dollars.

So does this B&M shift as fast as the RK Sport Interceptor? Our 2.4L likes to hang between the shifts. I'm looking for a way to get it to shift faster. A nice 1-2 chirp would be nice, but anything is better than stock.
My boyfriends car has a lentech valvebody in it and it will get rubber going into 3rd gear if he's running boost and shifts into 3rd at over 4000 rpms.
B&M is better because you can change modes in the car... its electronic
vs a screw on the interceptor
B&M > auto trans interceptor
I'm just wondering if the interceptor is worth the extra $100.00 that it costs? Does it get rubber on the 1-2?
Where can I get a B&M, anyone have a link? I might be able to get it locally at Lane Automotive if anyone has a part number. I didn't know they made one for the 4T40E.
Interceptor costs more because it's plug and play. B&M is cut and splice. From what I've heard don't use the supplied B&M connections get some good ones, solder the connections, and shrink wrap it for watertight seal.
Thanks for that tip. I assume it splices into the harness on the trans that the interceptor piggybacks. Can anyone who has driven cars with both compare on shift firmness?
The auto interceptor is not that great... Like mentioned above, you have to adjust the thing inside your engine bay with a little tiny screw.. The trans starts making this whirring noise, and its costs over twice as much.
The B&M is cheaper, and has 2 presets. You can turn it on anytime, but to turn it off, you must restart the vehicle..
I have had both units, and recommend the B&M for its simplicity.

Aw man you guys.
Each has their pros and cons.
B&M
Pros:
1. Cheaper.
2. Adjustable inside the car.
3. Can be used with out cars.
4. Little braggin rights. Can tell your passengers you have a boost switch or something.
Cons:
1. Installation. Have to wire spice and run wires to the cabin to use. But you can probably mount under the hood too if you wanted. And NO, not everyone can splice so easy without mucking it up.
2. Not as easily removed from the car.
3. Not designed to be used with our cars.
Auto trans:
Pros:
1. Plug n play.
2. More levels of adjustability. Although the difference between 10% and 15% is minoot. (yeah its spelled wrong)
3. Easily removeable. If you much up something, take it off adn go on about your business.
Cons:
1. Price. Friggin 5 times as much as the B&M.
2. Externally adjustable. Gotta get out and adjust under the hoosd.
Conclusion:
Basically if you can find the auto trans for about the price of the B&M then you're better off.
But the cost to effective ratio leans toward the B&M. I mean the cheap price and having a switch in the car is pretty cool.
And finally neither is 'better' in this case because they do the same thing.

hmmm....well I'm going to buy one of these, i dk which yet not that i read this post....Where can you buy the B & M at? Any Site or Magazine? and Does it come with instructions on how to install? I think I'd Rather have the B & M so i wont have to get out every time. Also, which is more reliable? If I splice the wires for the B & M kit can I take it off if I decide to? and what do i do if i mess up? Please help!
I had the B&M installed when I still had my Cavy. I bought it from Summit. I still remember the part number: 70380. This particular one is meant for GM trucks, but works with our car.

As far as instructions, I used the ones posted in LittleBill's registry.
