Hey guys hows it goin ,
I have a 99 cavalier with a 2.2 in which the tranny is shot (5spd)
I found another out of a 96 cav which has a 2.4
it may seem obvious but before I drop the $800 on the tranny I just wanted to know for sure if the 2.2 and 2.4 are the same block
I would assume so but with my luck something wouldn't line up if I just went and grabbed it with out checking into it first lol
so if anyone knows for sure I would appreciate the reply
thanks
Will not fit. Different part numbers. 96= 97107315
99=97131256
^^^^ he's right^^^^, they are different parts, and I'm pretty sure it won't line up properly. Just wondering but is this the first time you tranny went? Dam isuzu trannys always breaking, I love the getrag tranny !
thanks for the heads up guys .. back to the search I guess.
It has over 300,000 kms on it, and it they are some pretty hard kms to so I cant really blame it but yes this is the first time the tranny has gone.
however as for the isuzu vs getrag .. I agree 1000%
my fiero went through 2 or three isuzu's before I popped a getrag in it that was the last time (so far) that Ive had to change trannys in that car
for future refference where are you guys finding the part numbers ? could save me from having to bother ppl in the future if I could just cross refference some parts myself.
thanks again guys.
Ok so is the getrag isuzu swap an exact match for a 98 2200 or not? I have 120000 on my car and replaced it once.... i am thinking its the isuzu well pretty sure it is.....
