If the place that I get the wheels from mounts and balances them, does that mean all I have to do is jack my car up and toss them on as if I were changing a spare? thnx

Yeah, but be careful. I bought my wheels and tires from a place that ships them mounted and balanced... tires aren't balanced right at all.

When you put them on and your car shakes going down the road, they aren't balanced. The only other way to know is to put them on a tire balancer.

wheelmax mounted and balanced mine. I hope they're balanced right because they're on!

If you can, get the tires localy, that way the shop can balance them for you, and they usually do a good job.

some people also may not install them properly when theyput the wheel on, such as getting it centered properly on the studs. Do 2 wheels off enough and you have a balance problem, not even so much based on the balacing of tires, but rather getting the rim centered on the mounts.

Thats why people use hubcentric rings
