Coming from someone that had a manual rack, I advise against it. While I absolutely loved the feeling it gave while driving, parking and slow speeds blew big donkey balls.
I love how this build is coming along though, great job so far.
A true manual rack or just looped lines? I'd be looking at taking the rack apart and modding it internally if I do it.
My car doesn't see much driving duty other than autox these days so it's not something I'd have to deal with on a daily basis. I would plan on modding another rack if I do it so I could always throw the factory rack/pump back in if I didn't like it.
Thanks for the kind words guys. Still in the process of acquiring parts and trying to decide how much more I want to do this round. Going for the hybrid motor I ultimately want to build is tempting but it means that the car will be down longer while I buy parts and supporting mods.
We took it apart and built a manual rack.

Gotcha! Wasn't aware that anybody had really done a true manual rack. Most just loop lines and then complain about the increased effort.

I think with the right wheel I could fit 265s. I will have to roll and pull the toyos. Just a little something to think about...
Picked up my new rear bumper
I dig it! Will look great on there.

Not really... More a matter of a solid foundation for another planned mod.
With that comment in mind, clearly you'll be running a JGTC style Carbon rear spoiler.

The thought has crossed my mind... :p
Speed holes? Jk. Removing honeycomb and steel rear bumper to replace with something lighter?

Rear is temporarily mounted. Had to completely remove the crush guard to get it to fit. I'll go back and fix the wave under the trunklid before paint.
Also ordered a real set of aerocatch latches so I can finish up the front bumper install.
MUCH better.

Yes the black looks so much better - nice job.
So it looks like the side marker slides on to make it 1 piece essentially? And does the lens go back on as 1 piece to cover the whole thing? If so that's cool - it bugs me where the headlight and side marker line up.
Actually the entire housing is one piece... There is a shroud that covers the led running lights/projector that has the reflector for the side marker mounted to it. The lense itself is also one piece.
I painted just the side marker portion of the housing as the lights were used and the chrome was in bad shape. My previous side markets were all black so I'm not overly concerned that the light output will be adversely affected. I'll also have the markers in the bumper...
