Anyone know anything about this car? Obviously sounds like an auto trans. Hooks and goes pretty solid pretty consistent...
I have never seen a cavalier run a 9.9 before WOW
9.9? Camron has the fastest of 10.0....
the monte ran the 9.9, cav ran a 10.5.
Yeah thats why I wrote err scratch that 10.58
Sweet to she. Wonder how big a shot he is running.
PRND321 Till I DIE
Old Motor: 160whp & 152ft/lbs, 1/4 Mile 15.4 @88.2
M45 + LD9 + 4T40-E, GO GO GO
So far after watching it so much its an obvious automatic... Would almost have to be slicks to pull a 1.5 60'. Running skinnies in the back. Guessing at LEAST.... a 175+ shot. Has to be built motor/trans/stall. but thats all I can guess from the video.
That green one was "408whpcavalier" or something like that was it not? He used to post on here back in the day, original user name was "275whpcavalier" or something like that.
Either way, both Quebec guys, which is the province next to me. Never seen either car tho...
I poked around on the Quebec J-Body club website, couldn't find much, doesn't help its all in french and google translator sucks when it comes to Canadian French as its much different from true French.
If its a stock motor with nitrous (built bottom end obviously) then its probably more in the range of 250-300whp shot, hell its probably more like 350-400whp shot.
A stock 2.2 only cranks out 130whp, and unless its completely gutted (no dash, no anything) then you need upper 400whp at the least to crack off a mid 10. Probably more like something in the low 500whp range.
oh man. damn being at work and not being able to see youtube! LOL
ill have more to comment when i can actually view but just reading the rest of you talk this thing sounds epic. ive always wanted to do/see someone put some REAL nitrous on our cars.
so auto? lol wonder how mine would do with.... m45 +200 shot. already got the slicks/skinnies.
I choose the technology built for land speed records... not the technology built to save on emissions and gas mileage.

thought about that but its gotta be 500+ unless that auto is helping him THAT much. Camron went 10.0 with 550ish hp.
I just dont think it can be a stock motor to take such a big shot. I mean its trapping turbo times/mph with spray. He almost has to be spraying off the line the whole 1/4 mile. I was saying 175+ shot to be conservative... The engine doesnt sound like its absolutely screaming either which throws me off.
TO ME, it looks like it has a dash when it goes by sometimes. Would be nice for someone to find him and chime in. More or less just curious is all. Puts some of us turbo guys with tons of money into them to shame.
do we even know what motor it has? it could have all three.... lol
what i find crazy is if he really is shooting that much, he must have a nitrous fill station near by or in the trailer cuz he would need an ASS load of spray to keep running mid 10's like that....

Could be running a progressive shot, it does seem like it really starts to move once in second gear compared to when it comes off the line.
sorry if this is a dumb response, however i do believe he's running an 1/8th mile course not a 1/4 mile, i know on the quebec border and neighboring towns, we have a few 1/8th mile tracks. so 10 seconds in an 8th mile doesnt seem impossible out of a modified cavalier does it? serious question not sarcastic.
^^ cant be 1/8th mile. that means he did 126mph in the 1/8th LOL means itd do like 140-160 in the 1/4.
listen to the cars too, thats a 1/4 mile track.

It is listed as a 1/4 track in the National Speedway Directory
That's deff an 1/8 mile track. For sure. And its not, 126mph, that's 126KPH or about 79mph. You think they speak french and have it listed in mph? Its way too short to be 1/4, trust me. So its not impressive at all.
I run an 8.4 @ 145kph (90mph)
12.6 @ 114.6 MPH
Are you 1/8 mile guys serious?!?!?!
You really thing a big block regal that pulls the front tires damn near past the 60 foot marker only runs a 9.9 in the 1/8th?
Plus you can see the 1/8 mile times come up on the time boards after they cross the 1/8 mile marker, for instance that BB Regal ran 6.25 in the 1/8 on the first run.
Hang your heads in shame if any of you were serious about it being a 1/8 track.
I'm not upset, I'm disappointed. LOL
You guys, you really need to learn some french
the announcer said 126 miles per hour not kilometers a per hour
and it's a 1/4 mile track
Location: Montreal, Quebec

WOW, 1/8th mile????? yikes. come on people. EASY to tell its a 1/4 mile. Especially considering the times that pop up on their boards, the speeds, as well as all the cars racing....
mcmoney, get more info!
that is one fast cavalier then to be running those times in a 1/4. Definitely a huge shot of Nitrous. It amazes me that he goes that fast in a 1/4 mile and the motor isnt really screaming. I want to be that guy..................one day
