Opinions...custom gauge placement...pic request

I dont want to run the typical pillar gauge near the door. I found a place that makes custom dash panels for gauge placement (ORTIZCUSTOMS). And since I need a new dash trim panel since mine is crack this isnt a bad deal. He sent me this pic of a recent one he just completed for a pre 2k cavi.

Now I am really considering of going this route since I plan to keep my AC system. However im not sure it the steering wheel will obstruct the view of the gauges there. Or as an alternative I am considering of having two gauges replace one of the middle ac vents.

Opionions and pictures please if you have your custom install. And again NO i do not want to go the easy route of installing a pillar gauge. I plan to run my wideband and boost gauge there.

Looks good. I've had a similar thought before, just not able to get around to doing it.

This is mine, getting it finished tonight or tomorrow and painted to match the stock factory graphite interior.

also have one above the steering wheel. Lines up perfect with the inside of the speedometer so you can still see rpm's and how fast you are going at the same time

Awesome...thanks for the ideas. I would love to just remove the AC system and replace the middle vents with 3 gauges just like that. But here in Texas it can get very hot. Heck Im still undecided if I should fix the AC in the GTZ or just remove it.

I also like the gauge near the steering wheel by the hazard switch. Thats something I also considered. Well I might just pony up the cash and get the dash trim covered in carbon fiber while Im at it

I dont have ac, but air still blows through the side vent to keep me cool. or the sunroof open windows down. Not really missing the middle vents on mine.

I would, but it is one gauge too many and only looks to hold one 3-3/8" while I am using two.

This is what I ended up going with plus a pod on the steering column like Vince's. This way I still had a vent in the middle since it's my DD.
