Attn: Gravity (Jay)....DO NOT OPEN!!!
Wednesday, October 12, 2011 8:10 PM
Well, Jay's old car showed up at the shop today...

Wonder whats going on...

Something is wrong...

(*Spot reserved for video here*)

Found the solution

And for those of you that dont get it, Jay sold his old car cause it had a bad knock and didnt want to fix it, so the new owner wanted an eco swapped in. Paid $750 for fully dressed motor, trans, rad, and all the extra pieces needed for the swap. This is just a thread to show the progress, more-so for the new owner lol.

Video won't load on to my buddies computer and he can't email it either. Stupid blackberrys. Need to bring my computer to his place tmrw.

Anyways, got the motor about 90% installed today. Still need to do the rad, axles, tighten down pipe, clamp downpipe to exhaust, change throttle cable, fill fluids, put bumper hood and lights back in. Should be done tmrw

Confused to why people would do this? The cradle does not mount the engine or transmission. So why mess with body bolts that could break or seized up could cause a lot bigger headache when you can just pop out two axles and bring it threw the top?

Anyways yea for another eco swap..

Its more like a galss half full/empty deal. Its alot easier to drop/raise the motor out of the bottom, but like you said, a bit more work with the bolts and jacking of the cradle afterwards. Its hard putting a cradle in by yourself.

Yeah, I dropped my 2.4 out of the bottom with the frame still in the car.

Yes, that can be done too, but in that case, you have to unbolt the exhaust bolts....whereas id rather take a grinder to it lol

I cut my exhaust when removing it from the bottom.

Where are you cutting it from then? Up by the fuel lines and heater hoses? lol. Cant cut it after the subframe, or else it wont drop
