I just want to see how everyone is running the pipes coming off the head flange?
I will be needing to modify mine and well I've been instructed that the exhaust going straight to a bend is not good for flow.
So if others have a bend right at the flange and are pushing good numbers will then I wont have a problem

What motor is this for? I might be able to get a picture for ya.
Quad 4, Twin Cam, or Ecotec. Just those because they are facing the same way....with the exhaust near the firewall.

90 degree right off of my turbo and made 323 on a mustang dyno and it was highly capable of WAY more...
Well im aware of all the bends...its a turbo header.....wat im interested in is that first bend comibg from the head. How close it is.
My current manifold has a straight about 2 and a half maybe 3 inches then a bend. So thats good but I need to shorten the manifold to fit in the bay otherwise I will have to modify the firewall which is what I dont want to do.

You have been instructed for the theory world, not for the real world...
Nearly every header ever fabricated is going to have a bend or two that is close to the head... ITs just a product of the beast. I would worry more about an efficient equal length design more then having your bends right off the flange... there is no noticeable difference between the two. and most certainly no difference you will ever realize in the power range anyone with a 4 cylinder has ever made.. Flow is just as good coming through a well designed bend as it is on a straight section.
Certainly reducing the amount of bends is a good idea, and as stated.. keeping it close to equal length.. but beyond that... don;'t worry about it.
Ideally every piece of plumbing on the car, fluid or air would be straight... but that just aint going to happen.

Again Im well aware of the bends.....but with my current turbo header it requires modifications. I will post pics so everyone gets a better understanding of what Im talking about.
To briefly explain the modification needed so it will fit is it will be to cut OFF the straight pipe coming off the head flange then reweld the flange directly to the bend portion. So basically from the flange the exhaust hits a bend right away....like a wall if you will. Just imagine a bend right off the flange.....no straight pipe then bend.....just bend.
I really hate to do this but if others have a simliar setup and have proven themselves on the dyno and track then I will havemore reason to go this route instead of modifing the firewall.

Vince stated his is like that and still made 323whp. Ideally its not the best design but will still get the job done.

It should not be an issue... Guys that put big blocks in vettes have to run #3 primary around the steering box this way all the time... no worries with it whatsoever.
However, I would worry about the primaries lining back up with the flange ports when you cut some of the tubing out.

It reads 90 degree bend right off the turbo....im looking for a bend right off the exhaust head flange

.
I understand this...

Here the turbo header in
this link has about the same angle bends as yours will once modified and it was made by Fetter just like yours. He knows his stuff!

I already have one....just needs some modification
