I'm new here, but have lurked for a while. FlyingSkwirl's sig inspired me to do this to my cavalier, but basically I blacked out the bumpers and door moldings. I also fixed an indentation about 2"x2" square about 1/4" deep. Can't really tell unless you look directly at it. I can't put pictures up, but here is my car in an imageshack album:

Not a fan. Makes it look like you bought replacement parts and never had them painted to match.
Would've loved to do just Ultra Silver(same color), but unfortunately I'm on a college student's budget. Wanted to remove the moldings but my dad(who helped me through the process) said no. Worked for 7 hours, used Ultra-Glass on the rocker panels because they were cancerous. Decided to hide the work rather than spend a lot of money and time making the car silver again.
Why would you intentionally black out your bumpers? lol.
So you made a post to let everyone know you did a half assed job of covering up rust and painting pieces of your car? Good job bro
It's a daily driver... I don't plan on doing much externally but having a decent interior. I think I'm adding white leds and new speakers and possibly a sub in the trunk.
I like it, although for some reason I always liked the look of the base model grey bumpers. I plan on running a lip and sides and painting them like that and I think itll look sexy and dont care what others think.
If you like it that is all that matters
yup, it's your car so you do what you want. but posting pics here is opening you up to C&C, most of which you probably won't like. hang around here long enough and you'll see what I mean
now that that's out of the way... in my opinion, it looks like a '95 base sedan with the gray plastic bumpers, but with a 2k+ headlight/taillight swap. if I remember right, Skwirl has shaved moldings and an IF front.. ?

Im tempted to say this is a pointless thread.

So is mine but I still went through the trouble of painting my body kit...
i don't get this at all lmao but is your car
Evan and Zs Z, That is precisely the look I was going for. I like the 00-02 a LOT more than the 95-99 and I found the flat black to be a better look than the dark gray(which, if improperly maintained, looks horrible weathered). I got the color idea from Skwirl, actually. Shoulda been more specific there. I saw the silver car with a black bumper and said, yep. That's what I'm doing to it.

i kinda like it because it reminds me of the 95-99 base cars and why I hated them.
You should make it more of a base model...
Your next mod should be a hand crank starter!!! HAND CRANK STARTER FTW!!!!

Indeed, It is a 2000 Base, complete with the worst engine for speed ever, the 2200 OHV. I don't think I can make myself sound any worse, besides the fact that the car tops out at around a whopping 97 mph.
I think the geo line of cars had "worse" motors... with some exceptions of course.

P&P Head/1.6 Rockers
Cam Regrind
Pacesetter Header/Magnaflow Cat/Resonator/Dynomax Super Turbo Muffler and Tip
That should give you a lil more pep, they're not the fastest but they're damn reliable and if you have a 4t40e you can get a B&M Shiftplus too.
Personally I'd tint it, find some cheap 17's, drop it 2" and call it a day
