2011 Updates

Sorry if some of the description doesnt make sense, I just copied it from another forum and it started a couple days ago.

Figured I would start a new thread for the stuff happening this year.

So far all I have done this year was pick up the rims from ecocav and put the stock suspension under the car.

It looks like a 4x4 and handles like a mattress. I could almost get used to the soft ride of the stock suspension.

On with the plans.

Got some parts sitting in the garage that are begging to go in/on the car.

-KYB AGX struts
-RKSport drop springs(thanks M2)
-Addoc rear sway bar
-00 Toyota tails
-Replacement carpet
-00+ Ebrake handle and boot
-Short shifter and stock boot
-TRD sides(possibly)
-Put the 17s back on(running on stock Z rims again).

Body work should start in the next couple of weeks. There are only a few small dents in the car, the worst part are the rear quarters by the windows. The driver side was backed into and I believe my dad just filled it with bondo. That will be chipped out and see if I can pound out the dent a little and fill it in smooth. The passanger side is wavy from a stupid kid bouncing his ball on it when it was parked at the apartments my dad used to live at when i was driving the Talon. Door strikes will be removed and tossed. Throwing around the idea of moving the gas filler to inside the trunk as other people on JBO have done.

Once all the body work is done I spray it down with some primer/sealer(not rattlecan) and wiat for paint. The handles will be painted but the mirrors will remain black.

4x4 stance:

Rear struts on new OE style mount, Will be making custom solid mounts soon:

Front Struts and springs, will be making pillow ball mounts soon:

00 Toyota tails, outers only in pictures, shows lovely paint job that needs to be removed:

Replacement carpet sitting in garage, was holding spot for parts when I did the headers on the Altima:

00+ shifter in 99 with 99 ebrake and no console:

I got around to doing some work yesterday.

Before:

After:

Drives and handles so much better now. Turns out the struts I pulled from an 05 with 45k miles were blown. No resistance to fully compress they and they had 0 rebound.

I unfortunately took the non lazy road and went with the 00+ ebrake handle.

In the pictures its not actually hooked up, when I cut the cable from the 00+ in the junk yard, the spring wrapped around and I havent messed with it yet to get tension on it or try to put my cable on.

Im still deciding on if I should put the TRD sides on to match the front.

The door strikes will come off when it gets painted.
