hey everyone, I don't post here much but im on here a lot and it looks like most of you have good taste in wheels. So i come to you for some help.
I want to get some new rims for next spring but i honestly have no clue what i want to get. I've been through a lot of magazines and such and nothing as of yet has really stuck out to me and made me say those are the ones i want.
There are a few guidelines that I do want to stick with though. My price range is around $1200 (rims and tires), looking for 17"s as i live in Nova Scotia Canada and our roads are @!#$!!! so i want to stick with a 17"s so i don't have to run a 40 series tire with an 18" rim and beat the hell out of them and last i would like to stick with gunmetal or darker color but not black.
Here a few shots of the car with the rims that are on it now. I do like the style but there almost 10 years old now (bought them used) and it's time to update with something new. They are Maxxim defcon7's (motegi MR7 knock off's)
post up some suggestions for me and hopefully something will pop up that i like.
track lites?
clean sunfire though! always been a fan of that color
and this should probably be in wheel forum
ugh i wish i had a sunroof on mine lol.... buy the track lights that are in the forsale section, those are siiick, but their black lol but paint is easy enough to do
13.22 @ 105.2
i was looking at those but i'm sure they'd be gone by the time i could afford them and shipping to Canada would kill me...... lol
i was doing some more poking around and i think i found a set that i want, i just gotta see how much there gonna cost me if i can get them through a local shop.
i know i said i didn't want black but the chromium black stands out a lot more then just normal gloss black.

thats pretty much my favorite sunfire on this site so simple and clean and thats my fav color. i wouldnt even bother with new rims it looks perfect the way it is

yeah, i'd leave it alone too, just get some rear spacers and be on the hunt for some decent centercaps...

That's been my biggest pet peeve about these rims is that when i got them refinished the center caps when missing and of course the rims are so old that i cant find center caps for them. I've even called the konig warehouse and they said they have nothing that would fit.
Thanks for the comments guys, I was quite suprised when a lot of you said to just keep it the way it is.. I've just done what i can with it, but was going to a clean look. Only other things that i want to do are color matching handles and side mirrors, and get the the exterior details (the clear coat is getting really scratched up)
Keep the rims you have, there has to be center caps somewhere

stop by a shop thart has aftermarket rims and ask them to pop one out of their display and see if it will pop in yours. if it does have them or a set of the ones that fit. i'm pretty sure most of the aftermarket wheels have a close enough diameter hole that you could swap out to different center caps even different brand center caps. only time i have seen a problem is when you have the style that come threw the back.
Hey keyle, i am with the rest and think your current rims in gunmetal with your nice orange paint looks hott....
But if you were to change wheels; something with a nice lip/dish like the ones in the link you posted would be supper hott.
Your car looks great kyle; i have my winter hood, winters on now.... my rims are currently gunmetal in color; i am either going to repaint darker; or look for new rims as well...
Good luck kyle; keep us posted on your wheels.
98 j-body sedan
i like the rims you have now
lime green TE37s would be ballin.
or purple BBS RS...
Ok, but seriously, I'd get away from the concave look, especially if you want something different. And I know you specified gunmetal, but I think some machined silver would pop on that orange. Maybe something 5 or split 5 spokes, but I'm biased...
these are what I was going to get prior to finding my enkeis, but I still love this rim

those are the exact ones that i posted up after i mad my original post, same color too.
but i think im am going to take MR Tompson's advice and if i can find a set of center caps to fit then i mill keep them and just get them refinished again.
yeah, I think thats the best plan, then use the pesos you save to delete the rear spoiler and put a tiburon wing on it, and paint mirrors and tint the lights a little bit to add to the orange and dark color contrast.

the spoiler already has been shaved, but im keeping it that way, never been a huge fan of spoilers. tails and turn markers haven been tinted, so the only things left are the door handles and mirrors.
Icon GT-5's would look great! Your current rims arer nice too though.
lol would you ship to canada for free?? (joking)
