New car from an old member
Saturday, October 16, 2010 3:08 AM
For those of you who don't know, I sold my old cav a few years ago after having a wheel break 4 studs and destroy the fender like the week it was finished. So.. needless to say I needed a break, I sold the other car and parted out what I could, and now I have found the replacement thanks to a really nice member here on the ORG, Luke ( dragracemyz24 ).

Here are some photos taken in the last few months of the old car, right as we got the black headlights on and almost completely finished the turbo kit and getting it touched up and dialed in..

Here are some pics of the new car ( Thanks again to Luke! ) This car looks nicer than any pics I can get of her..

I will get a ton more pics tomorrow, I didn’t get home til late, also I am still figuring out how to use this stupid DSLR.. I normally point and shoot still lol

Thanks for all the comments everyone.. I really do like it. I wish Luke's Farewell post was as friendly as this one. He is a really good guy and easy to deal with during and after the transaction when we spoke.

Ben ( SilverJon1nines ) bought the blue car for a really decent price since he had a motor really nice built motor, (he may have Skunks old motor in it now, I am not really sure) and He no car to put it in, and I had the shell, but needed something to get back and forth to school with, so we worked it out.

I am hoping to get some pics today with The Blue one and the Silver one if we can find a good place in downtown Indy to snap some..

Curts motor is torn apart and has been mostly pieced out. A stock ecotec 5speed has gone it from what I understand.

Love the new car!! I'm so jealous of the SC, I really want to boost the vert... best of luck with the new one, and I'm in for more pics! And what DSLR did you get? Once you get used to them, you'll never go back to a point and shoot!

I know Brad, at least I know Ben will do something crazy with it, so it will be more bearable

It wont be kitted again, It was done several years ago, and thats why I liked when I was like 20, now I am not really into them at all. I love lip kits with a healthy dose of C/F, also more subdued colors, so the silver works out. This car really is perfect for me.

I got a Sony A330, I really like it but I need a lot more practice before I can get good with it. lol. Also, I really like the S/C, it has a different feel than the turbos do, I know a lot of people prefer the turbos, but I am def. a S/C person, it feels so natural while driving it, and the whine is great.

Thanks for the comments. I cant wait to get some more pics. I just ordered a box for my JL 13W6, and still shopping for an amp, got the rest it all wired today, replaced some missing bolts, and I am deciding on a wide band gauge, as the narrow band gauge doesn't work, and Id like to monitor AFR without hooking up the LM-1

I have the same camera (sorta)! I got the A300 2 years ago, and the 330 is, to my knowledge, just the newest iteration of it. Coming from a Canon background, the Sony was a shift, but I honestly love it. I've tried friend's Nikon D40, D60, and Canon Rebel XSi, all very nice cameras, but I still come back to mine, I guess I'm just used to it... haha its, overall a pretty simple camera to use, I've been very satisfied with it thus far, hopefully you will as well! And I have to agree, I've never driven TC or SC cars, but I do love the SC whine as well!

Next little update btw.. Still waiting for the box and amp.. but went ahead and picked this up from a buddies house. Its a JL 13W6v2.. Its no replacement for my old W7s, but the price was right, just waiting on a 500/1 and a few days for the proper box. All the wiring is done and the wiring has been upgraded and wires tucked and RCA and remotes ran. For Size comparison, it is next to my 24" Monitor and could eat the Keyboard, it was purchased for SQ and wont be getting a ton of power, but it has to have something nice .

Im REALLY out of the loop. Did you buy Wade Jarvis' old cav, or another Wade. And if so, what happened to the engine that was in it?

I think the second cavy he had was Wade Jarvis' old car from what I have gathered lol. I am the old owner of his current car ( the silver one) . Kind of confusing .

Ok, I will clear this up real quick, I didn't think it was that confusing but I was there the whole time, so maybe it needs explaining.. I don't go through Jbodies like crazy or have a ton or anything like that. I have owned two. One for 5 years, and one for two days so far and will have it for a very long time.

Yeah, I had my first car that I posted for 5 years, and then I sold it.

Got my current car from Luke.

Had Wade Javis' car for a week or so. Sold it to a buddy that wanted it, it never ran in my possession and it is running strong right now, I saw it last night. I didn't have that long enough to count, I towed it home with a friend, and we towed it to that friends house from Iowa, and he gave me money and I left it there. and gave him the title before I even transfered it lol. Thats the history since 2004. I have had two cavaliers with my name on the title, and have only driven two.

Well, it was a nice day today, so I thought in between a break of working in some programming homework, I would go ahead and head to the park and get some shots, My timing was off, and the sun was ridiculous, but I did what I could for being in a park for like 30 min... back to homework lol.
