Agreed. I like the rear lip idea too...would set her off nicely.
finally pics with the rotas!
car looks great james! glad to see you got the shift linkage taken care of!
I dont even care how it looks. All business.
A front lip and no rear lip is like a reverse mullet party in the front business in the back!
this car looks amazing!! what kind of rims are those?
I love how the red accents work with the car. All the small details on the exterior really pull it all together. I really do not like the front at all though. An IF front, or something not so tacky, would really finish off the car nicely. Great work though. Love the disc brakes all around, wheels, and hood!! One more thing...one piece black projectors/corners!!
wow, been a long time coming for sure. glad to see this finally back on the road, and looking sexy as ever. fantastic job sir.
Btw, the places where I took the pictures was covered in over 20 feet of water from Katrina.
All the houses you see are either refurbished or brand new.
And if you look closely, you can see some of the trees that are still affected from the storm that brought devastation like we've never seen or hope that we'll ever see again.
One other last note. I had the car OUTSIDE while in the storm and I've still got scars on the glass and paint from flying shingles that were traveling fast enough to literally embed themselves in the paint/ glass. How the car made it through Katrina in 135mph winds still boggles me. I'm quite fortunate.
Ok, I'm done now.

I failed to mention that the headlights have been shaved of those nipples and polished up to be clear as glass.
And I love the stock corners on the car considering that for years I had everything clear.
I've always wanted the IF front bumper but with so many having it, it would be just run of the mill if you know what I mean so I went with something different and couldn't be happier with it.
Brad, thanks man.
I love the Rotas on the car and lend a look like nothing that anyone has locally. I've NEVER seen these on any car locally so they do make the car stand out.
I've even had people come up to me today and start asking questions about the car. That's a great feeling.
And you know as well as I do that were it not for you and Brandon helping me get these rims, I wouldn't have them. Thanks BoltZ and Brad.
Drag strip and autocross are next and in the future so I'll post up some numbers once they come in. I'm hoping to break some long held records that have been so hard to break.

* * BIG FOR SALE POST * *
hey blu it looks great bro, never been a fan of that front bumper but that lip is immaculate!
Please do not add a rear lip, the stance is perfect!
I have on question: If you recall I had the sunfire rear end on Skyla like you do, what were your steps on polishing those lights, they look perfect.
i have mixed feelings on some stuff! but, overall this car is win! good to see it all cleaned up man!
This car is badass! By far the nicest J i've ever seen...great job James.
James, As always I love the car.
That front makes me want to get that lip and toss my base front back on
Like most have said, the only issue I have with a otherwise flawless Cavalier is that front bumper..
if thats the same lip I'm thinking it is, go get a 00-02 Z24 front bumper, flip the lip over and use it.
Would flow so much better then the smiley face bumper IMO
Never realized how much I love that color until I saw it in the sunlight. WOW.
I forget the name of the owner, but there is(was?) a beautiful Cavalier same color as yours I used to be in love with.
I know what you've done else where on the car, wish you took some pictures of all the suspension work thats been done.
And some under the hood pictures...
But still always loved the Blu'

If it's the head lights it took alot of work.
I actually used a file to file down the nipples flush and from there, proceeded to use 400 grit wet sanding to remove all of the acrylic coating from the head lamps. Once that was removed and got down to the actual Lexan part, I use 1000 grit wetsand then 1500 grit wet sand.
From there I used Meguiars #4 deep cut cleaner to buff out the wetsand and then #7 Meguiars to polish it out to a nice shine.
The final step was Meguiars PlasticX lens cleaner and multiple coats of Liquid Glass to achieve that clear glass finish.
Now for the Sunfire three piece rear section, I used the #7 to polish it out along with PlasticX by Meguiars. It didn't take much to bring out the shine to the tail lights and even though it was quite faded and dull like most that you see it 's easy to get that shine back with the above Meguiar products. I also do the same with the mirrors as they too are easy to get that mirror shine back from the dead.

We need to meet up next week during the Cruising the Coast. I'll give you a holler when that time comes up.
I want to check out your ride since you've done all that work to her.
Thanks Mike and keep what you got man, it's looking good.

The only reason I went with the front bumper with the smiley face is because it's open for a front intercooler for turbo. The stock Z24 bumper was closed off and I had over heating issues with that bumper so I converted.
Now that the turbo project has been changed to M45 I'm still loving this bumper because it breathes so well and directs air into the oil cooler and radiator with little effort. I have no issues now with the car overheating like I did with the Z bumper.
And unfortunately I don't like the 00-02 front bumpers.
I wanted this to be different with the front lip like it is and I've never seen a setup like this on any other cavy out there so it's something that alot don't like but it's original and different.
The lip needs painting along with the skirts but I'm also old school from the 80's look in which black ground effects pretty much ruled at that time. I still love that look and am also paying homage to my '86 Z24 that I never got a chance to complete because of Katrina, hence the Z24 on the side skirt just like the original Z's. I miss my '86Z.
And 02_redbadged, I understand. Not everybody is going to be happy with everything done to ones ride. I love honesty and thanks.

I loved Shulte's Cavalier and still have pictures of it.
The hood he had on it was something I cherished and wanted so badly. I loved that hood.
But his car was how I wanted the 'blu to look when it was done because that was my original goal and look. Things changed over the years and so did ideas about the finalized versions of what I wanted.
Thanks WhiteCavy.
Any pics of said car?

Wow, I haven't seen this car in what seems like years! I'm definitely a fan, even with the base front bumper. The only thing I don't like is the sunfire panel on the carbon trunk. And no engine pics?!
