the new cav...

well haven't really posted much over here lately, if any of you remember this...

ya ruined my summer to say the least...anyways new project. (posted from jco so some things might sound outdated )

i bought it for the condition it was in, low miles, rims, custom seats, and all the cf engine stuff...then this happened.

Pictures before i really touched it....

optima was the first thing i bought for the car, lol...

Original paint design...

First major mod...originally for the sunfire, and bought back from DJ (rocky) thanks to Jon (xbot) for grabbing the rotors from R1 concepts for the front and rears ....

before..

after...

painted....i did another 2 coats after, lol.

Brackets...

and done, I just need calipers and e-brake cables and it's ready to go in...

Trunk swap and 00-02 LS/z24 spoiler (thanks gary) , tails are gone already, lol..new ones will be coming soon.

Some of the audio

new mounts (thanks greg)

my guages (volt needs replaced since my hand took it out during the accident and floor mats (thanks for giving SOME of my stuff back brandon), lol..

And the best 250 i ever spent, got the sc, intake, HE pump, and hoses (just need H/E), all brackets, pulleys, tmap and connector...lol, couldnt say no if i wanted to...

tmap connector was finished today..(crappy pics) ^^ notice engine is cleaner already, lol vvv

02 fuel rail and new lines, and adapter plate for tb (thanks to eco-cavy for the hookup)

pinstripe removed...say no to orange, lol

more progress, neon swap is finished...just got some cheapo rotors on, so it can get painted, exhaust work done and make sure everything is working properly....only thing i dont like it the way the steelies dont sit on the centric ring..probably going to grind the backing plate more and take a washer out so it sits back further and alittle on the centric ring. Yes i need struts...one thing at a time, there coming this summer

The new rotors once paint is done...

Also got the intake manifold on and started screwing with the things that need to be done before i put the supercharger on, like brake booster, pcv, evap, dipstick, heater hose line that i fricken hate...lol, and a couple other things...

I can't wait to be at this stage in the next day or 2, just waiting on the upper rad hose from GM, They sent me the 2.4 eco hose on accident, which just means i had to wait another week for it..also i have to get spark plugs and sc oil before i put it in...I HOPE to have it running this week and take it for exhaust work before paint...

This is the first wash of the year and last wash before paint, i needed to clean it so i could finish removing the pinstripe crap that stayed on....and there was way to much dust do be scrubbing the car with something, lol...

Really starting to hate the rear bumper, so im switching it before paint, i have a busted exhaust strap on the passenger side in case someone noticed it, lol...

All done, just need alittle coolant, waiting for battery to charge so i can do the relearn and i'll be starting it tomarrow in for paint next week..........

Also put the mounts in as well, ill be cleaning the engine bay and hiding some more things once it gets back from paint

total sc build price:750 bucks. CDN

Alittle progress..well after not finding anything i liked, I decided to go to the 03-05 Z24/ LS sport front and rears for atleast the rest of this year....this winter ill be buying a hood, and doing custom fenders, and so on...not giving any more secrets, lol. The damn bumpers have got to be the harderst thing to find...EVER! Thanks to eco-cavy for finding me the rear and going to Ohio for it, and Montana who told me about Standard auto wreckers, although they had a screw up, and didnt have it...they found someone who did, and that was a 9 hour drive today...lol.

Anyways on with the pics...

See what's going to be happening to the rear

back bumper is on, rear cutout is "roughed" in (thanks to micah's car for the idea), exhaust in fixed, sway bar is installed...pics

finally ready for paint...

JCO BASH 2010 (worked almost 48 hours straight to finish the car enough to make it. ( won 1st place modified )

well a couple small updates, really just been driving it and enjoying it for once, because i know it won't last long before i start being stupid again

3m cf stuff everyone's been trying, i used it to recover the chevy badge...(and thats the only place its goin...lol)

The plug by Jared Methe; to get rid of the stupid sensor on top of the supercharger (sc needs a polish this winter, I know..)

My cobra heat exchanger finally.

The brackets i had a buddy make for the H/E, (going to attach it to the front bumper)...found a picture of something similar here on the org. it's going to work perfect. They still need paint.

My control arm bushings are in, going to paint them and put the new balljoints in and they'll be done.

to replace the key cylinder in my trunk

And my soon to be new hood, that will be home in the next 3 weeks or so... HUUUUGE thanks to Nick (cyklone), I wanted one bad, lol....(Nick i ripped your facebook picture off )

i also replaced my rear agx's because i blew them and the mounts, and they were bad, hahahaha. some food for thought, always order your struts from an authorized dealer because if they are not, warrenty replacement is a P.I.T.A. big time....fml. anyway c&c welcome.

More to come winter is getting close

c&c welcome.

I like it. Im really glad you got those bumpers changed out.

How was the 3m CF application? Did you reapply the bowtie with 3m as well?

yup. and the 3m cf stuff is okay..once you get used to using it. i'll be trying something alittle more complicated soon, heat is your friend, and works wonders with it.

I started going "yuck wtf".

Great to take a car with an obnoxious bodykit and thoughtless paint scheme and bring it back to something tasteful!

thanks, when i bought the car i didnt really mind the kit, but fg sucks and big kits that stick out are useless and not pratical AT ALL!...also big thanks to Josh Dearman. helped me out tonnes with the neon swap, on here, facebook, msn.. I owe ya, i've also swapped over to the 03-05 sunfire interior, and have a painted valve cover but i liked the way the cf cover hides everything nice and clean so it went back on, lol...next on the list this winter is

-methe
-smaller sc pulley
-bigger injectors
-tune
-find an xtreme tuner front fascia
-finish the exhaust
-redoing the seats because although nice, material is sh*t, and i keep having to repair the bolster from the seatbelt rubbing and me getting in and out...why waste money on something that won't last a summer i'll never know.

Wow, great transformation! I'm not a huge fan of the side skirts though, probably because they're lower than the rest of the kit, but other than that, I LOVE this car. So clean and simple! Sexy engine bay as well
