thats cool ig et what your going for, is to make your base as sporty as a z24, well in that case you should add a few more things like side skirts, front and rear lip, msd coils/wires, lightweight pulleys, header, wheels, then it will look and feel alot sportier, still a 2200 wont have the ponies sure, but at least ti will be more responsive and fun to drive, and then you can go further and start on chassis and suspension as you get funds to. looks like a fun project.
or an ecotec
but no the badge is cool if he makes it into his version of a z24 imo. a 2200 just a littlemore responsive etc dont have to go crazy and do boost or swaps to make it sportier. i know ive made my base 05 way better than it was when i got it and i love it, have the same badges too they look goooood on there with my fire skirts, front lip, painte dmirrors and handles, lowered, tint, etc etc list in my pro anyways

Umm Z/24 means that you have a LD9, not LN2.

maybe it runs 12's in the 8th i run low 15's in 1/4 at 4000 ft altitude in tucson at sir.
and yea the chips are crap they dont do anything besides take a few bucks from your wallet and some space in your car.
If z24 meant you have to have an ld9 why do the eco 03-05's in canada come with z24 badges instead of being called lss like here in the us also like the older cavs that were z24 with a v6 in them? so that may be your opinion, imo z24 is a sport model cav
o i didnt notice you had only a muffler, if you want little more response also go for a full catback and magnaflow cat along with a header as i listed before. just depends how much you want to put into a cavalier really lol

80hp from a chip, fart can, and intake? You're lucky if you added 10-15hp with all of that. I've never dyno'd my Z24, but I've got an AEM intake and Magnaflow catback and I probably only added about that 15hp.
A) Cut the crap and be honest. This is a J-body site full of real, dedicated gearheads and enthusiasts who know their stuff. This isn't CarDomain...
B) Debadge the car, its not a Z24. Drop it on some nice springs/coilovers and struts, throw some decent wheels/tires on it, and find an LS Sport or Wings west lip kit to finish off the clean look. Power wise, do as mentioned. Header, strut bar, pulleys, mounts, etc. Then you'll have a fun little car.

your 2200 isn't putting out near enough power to be running those kinds of numbers.
that chip you wasted money on did absolutely nothing. NOTHING. take it off your car as your'e probly doing damage rather than helping anything.
swapping mufflers was pretty much pointless unless you simply did it for a sound difference.

yea 2200 plus fart can plus intake n chip mad crazy power until it hits 4th wait they dont have 4th lol. Antony if ur in the southeast pa area get at me well show u 13sec cavs we have a few n more in the works.
bluecavvy... is right, except swapping a free flowing muffler over stock might not yield him 15 hp but may get him just a little more throttle response and thats cool too on top of maybe he likes how it sounds. I dislike canister mufflers and never use them, but if thats what he likes or wants to start with so be it.

first of all why does your name contain drift and cavy unless its for the gay fg bodykit. and yes 2200's come with a 3 speed or a 4speed auto or a 5 speed manual so you apparently dont think before you type or dont know what the hell your talking about either.

one the last few 2200 i saw had 3spd autos in them n no i dont have a fg kit. fg kits dont touch this car. and why does urs contain DJ Beefy unless ur fat. seriously big deal i say 3spd most did then as they changed they came 4 spd. it didnt seem like in the pics he has a 5spd. But sure he needs help im usually down for help but when u think a can,intake,chip, can get u 12-13 secs from a 2200 itll get busted on a bit.
Not a bad start, but yeah, sideskirts, front and rear lips, and some Z wheels would be a good start. Also change the blue bowties to the red/black ones, and it will give the look your going for. Then like other ppl said start playing with the car. It has the potential to be a fun little car. So enjoy it.

Also as said 2200's came with a veriety of trans, you maybe should of at least looked it up before posting but its done and posted now so whatever. Least you learned something and I bet this guy is pretty young and he said its his first car so im waiting for him to get back on here if he needs any help, ideas or suggestions and hopefully we can help him if he wants it.
as for the chip AGAIN GAWD, ugh, yea he prolly is just posting what ebay said on the ad that his car would gain so its not his fault just his lack of knowledge thus far.
haha yea i had the blue bowties on my 98 didnt take me long to take those off, they just dont look right and esp on my 98 its the cayenne red metallic just doesnt go well with much the red/black much better specially when going for a z type look

Yeah I hear ya, my girl has a red 96 LS Vert, that im gonna make into a Z since she already has the LD9. Only thing her car wont have is the spoiler and she likes it that way, so no biggie, we just both hate the 96 base model bumper on the front with the big "smile" and she wants something a little more sportier looking, so I have the 95/99 Z bumper laying around, so I figured I would give them to her. But she has those ugly blue bowties on her car too, and it just looks off. So when I took my bowties off my Z, i kept them for her
Really no one will be able to tell she doesnt have a Z. Especially since it pretty much is one, just without the body. Hell, I even have the black seats with the red speckle in them for her car too. Since her car has the gold seats. Shes happy with the mods were gonna do, so thats all that matters. Lol

Lol yea i changed it. I ordered a performance chip n a resistor wire showed up so its sittin on about 130HP n it would probably run the 1/4 at 16-15's. I still love this car. Im waiting on proline wheels. Ill post pics when I get them on. Thanks for all of the positive feedback!
BTW i threw out the cheap resistor wire, it made the check engine light come on n i dont want to deal with any of that in the long run
