Time to say good-bye to the Dspecs & Road Magnets! They've been great, no regrets! They're going to their new home soon! We discovered my old suspension was completely blown when it was to go back on, so it was a long weekend of scrambling for parts & now I feel like I drive a mini truck! It's not often that I do anything to my car these days, so while I actually did something, I figured there may as well be a thread
A pic of how low it sat last year
In progress on the lift at my brother's house
Not so good
New goods
Last look at the good stuff
The only pic I took of it since it's lifted back up, just before a test drive as my brother was talking to me
And an awesome rust hole I found on the rear driver's area of the frame! There was a lot more rust, but this was by far the most nasty one. I knew there was a reason I didn't look under there more often haha
And for those who don't know or may care or whatever, the hood is gone & the wheels are also up for sale. I've got too many repairs looming over me, I don't want to drive some ghetto looking car with mods, that's trashy IMO. I've started saving for a new ride, the Sunfire won't be repaired. I'm driving as-is until I can afford the car I want, or it won't move anymore haha! So sad.
WAIT WAIT WAIT!!!!
Your brother has a lift yet you guys left me to do that in your garage..........
I feel slighted!!!!
It's sad to see the car going the way it is.

I think bigfoot is blurry,
that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra
scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster, roaming the countryside.

Hey now! He just got the lift maybe a month ago, he's used it for 1 oil change on the wife's Jetta & to swap winter wheels on his Cabriolet. This was the third time it's been used
Even if he did have it, there's no way a lowered car would get out of his steep, twisty, gravel driveway with a drainage ditch anyway, ya need to get a bunch of speed or you're trapped. They actually have parking at the top of the driveway as well since it does suck so badly.

Glad I'm not alone on going back to stock. It really sucks to look at
Not sure on how bad it is to drive now, I got it home & it's waiting on an alignment, so I'm driving my Subaru instead. It's an eyesore at this point, especially with the clear coat coming off quickly, it's for sure just an A-B car now. It's an end of an era of my life, started when I was 20 & parting out now that I'm 30. So sad
this a sad day to see it go back to stock height

that is sad. but at least when youre 40, 50, or older you can look back on that 10 year stretch and smile. the car looked good...sucks to see it back to stock now. did you already get rid of the hood/rims, or were they just off for winter?

Thanks
My husband drove my Outback home the night it came home & we stopped to get some food, I had to check to make sure the Sunfire was still shorter than the Outback when they were parked side by side

Looking back with a smile is what I hope for, don't think I'll do this again. The hood & wheels were off for winter with the hopes that it would be easier to let go if they were already off the car for a while. Knowing the hood went to a good home made that easier, but the wheels are still here with no buyers yet. It would look completely stupid to put them on now that I'm back to stock height, so I won't torture myself by seeing them on in that condition. It took me 8 years to pick those out & only ran 2 summers!
