a little thread showing my one step forward, three steps back progress thread on my cavy!
its been through hell and back for sure. this car has been through five accidents, and not been totalled.
hopefully, it will not be in another, and i can finally finish this build!!! ...everytime i fix something/start to, something
else brakes, or it gets hit somehow causing even more damage....people have told me to just leave it alone....but
im so close to finishing the build......and as it sits now, it cannot be drivin because of the last accident...so as i fix it,
it cannot get into any more accidents....so im thinking after this, she may be finished. i will post up more progess as i go along!
this car was bought brand new at my local chevy dealer in 2000. it had 7 miles on it. it was personally the first car my dad has ever bought for himself...we also bought our mom van in 1999 brand new as well...but thats besides the point. its a 2200SFI with the highly prized 3speed auto
it came with a base model sport package; which consisted of the 15" steelies from the LS equiped cavaliers, the tachameter cluster, spoiler, pinstripe, and CD player.
sorry for some of these pics.....lost alot of the old ones, as they were on an old camera, that has gotten lost, so the ones i have found were on my CarDomain, so they are really small!
JUST AN FYI......ALOT OF THESE PROJECTS WERE ALL TRYING TO BE DONE AT THE SAME TIME....
LIKE BODYKIT, AUDIO...AFTER BODY WAS DONE....PAINT.....BUT ACCIDENTS KEPT INTERFEARING...
LIKE THE BODY WASNT JUST SANDED DOWN CAZ OF AN ACCIDENT....I WAS PAINT PREPPING....AND
DRIVING THE CAR AS MY dd......SO WAS SANDED IN SOME AREAS...BONDO ON SOME AREAS...WHILE DRIVING IT!
HAD NO OTHER CHOICE! also, i know the car looks like crap, and after five accidents, i shoulda gave up. so dont tell me that crap on here! ....its my first car, i was 16 when i got it, and did half the mods to it! so dont call it rice, i dont need that. ....this was my first car, and i didnt wanna give it up......thats y i put up with all the accidents, and kept trying to fox it...even if it was a lost cause... i love this car to death, its my baby, will always have a place in my heart. even after its time to give her up, either to a new owner [because i dont think i can keep her with a new car] or to the junk yard if something happens to her thats too bad to fix!
but her we go from day one till today!
no stock pics...but u could imagine....just this, with the 15" hubcaps
once i got it, removed the hubcaps
added a 3A Racing resonated bolt on exhaust tip
added tribal themed pedals
then, was big into rap music, and getto cars....and added the chrome hubcaps, lol
then after that phase, wanted a more racey feel to the car...got the leather seat covers..
StreetGlow blueish/white headlight bulbs..bought after my 10000k 55w eGay kit died
me and my friends/co-workers cars [2000 eclipse GT auto, 2007 toyo yaris auto, and mine]
and another dont mid the crappy cell pics from NIGHT! TIME!
then added neons StreetGlow 7color LED kit:
had my exhaust done shortly after, because i had a hole in my exhaust
soon after i had gotten the car...the IMFAMOUS dash crack..
car was rear ended while in my dads posession...but that was fixed...here was my first accident:
slipped on some ice...doing 25 in a 35 already..ussually i can keep it on the road when she slips..
not this time....creased the whole side front to back...so new fender...gonna need a mirror too!
here is a pic with the neons goin, and reverse was replaced with APC hyper whites, with blue rubber covers on them
also painted the hubcap spokes black, and kept the lip chrome....to make them LOOK like rims...effective at nite actually!

i also, beacuse the lady in front of me slammed on her brakes...i hit her at about 5-10mph
pushing my bumper in....only scratching hers....u can see in the headlight pic, how its wrinkled,
and in the next few pics the new 2000 Z24 bumper.
no mirror:
freshly de-badged, hubcaps, front bumper, ans SS "badge" written in Sharpie marker
i decided that i was gonna keep the "one mirror look" and make her look like an older car from the 70's
that only came stock with one mirror....filled up the sail with bondo....
finally my AEM long ram intake came in:
at 50k i replaced spark plugs and wires: NGK's and ACCEL 8mm wire upgrade

1c ft per sub sealed box…painted by me…if u didn’t know..I was goin for a tan/blue theme

Then needed a new battery soon after….wonder y, lol!
Walmart battery…bur…specs [had some one in it before]
Added all my stickers..
Bought new from GM a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire auto shift knob..and installed it

Tried out someLumanics hyper yellow bulbs in the headlighst, idk if I liked them..so back to my
StreetGlows…pic none the less
SANDBLASTING! And sanding…getting her ready for paint!
And then…the hood flys up on me! Gawd damn it! U can see it flipped up in the corners here
Also…I painted the headlighst GunMetal!
More crinkle hood…I actually pulled out a huge dent!
..after I sand blasted the trunk to remove rust on the inner seam/rolled lip…with the left over
Gunmetal….theought it would be cool, and thot it would SORTA look like C/F from a distance
Wonder y all that bumper support is missing?
Maybe this has something to do with it??
On the car

Hood flew up on my way home from work…I had it locked just on the safety….because I had a stripped
Bolt on the negative side of the battery….the lead in the battery was like gone! So bolt would fall out…car wouldn’t start….so I kept it on the safety all the time so I could put it on the battery and start the car…well,
I think someone was lookin at my car, caz they saw the hood open….caz I got in the car after work to see if it would start and it did…so I didn’t have to do anything…..started going home….saw it bobbing….slowed down to 10mph..still braking to pull over and latch it…when BAM big gust of wind pulls it up!
Then literally weeks later, me and my girl friend went school supply shopping…was pulling out of an art supply store, road was clear, and then boom! T-boned by a speeding over a dangerous hill, “lady of color”, with a suspended license to boot! …but even tho she even failed to slow down even a little, and actually changed lanes [which made her hit me] …if she woulda stayed in her lane, she woulda cleared me! The cops look at it as, I pulled out in front of her causing the accident…..

Her car had to be towed home…I have a bent axel…..they asked if I wanted a tow as well, I told em
No, I would try to drive her home….I was like 5-10 mins from home….
On the way home, I saw this real cool place to take a pic…….had to..even tho car was ruined…no tres sign, and power lines! w00t!
From the ride home…axle so bent, ot popped the spare I put on!
Original rubbed on the suspension, when I tried to move it out of the street!
So while it sits in the drive, have the full size back on!
Axle does not look bent at all! …prolly bent right by the hub!

Sandin the new hood on top of the roof…had black primer on it….painted satin black
New fenders…painted satin black as well! INSTALLED
Engine repainted again….and painted engine bay, as well as the alternator and header
Painted back end that gets covered by rear bumper satin black as well…
that’s how bent my axle really is!!! Also the welds on my whole exhaust popped in the accident,
Causing my exhaust to drag…that’s y its held up by COAT HANGERS!
SATIN BLACK! No streaky look, no mistakes! …lil dirty tho…small dent

So, that’s how she sits now……no bumpers on it, half black, half tan/primer….rust hole filled…..
All that jazzz….im finishing it up this spring/summer to take down to the bash! Hope to see u guys there!
Will be satin black, with import fighter front with the LSS sides and rear…lowered how it is, with red neons,
Inside and out, toyo tails, new exhaust..maybe header back this time, and Z24 rear spoiler and rims. I hope I can finish her up nicely wish me luck guys! Im gonna need it!
……..also the build will be updated come spring time….but very slowly…as my hard earned money is going to a new toy every month…..a 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS/NA 2.4l automatic coupe in Arrival Blue! Will post pics later!
