Leona's thread

So everyone else is doing it, why not me? I will just copy and paste from my post on JCO.

Well there hasnt been much progress on Leona since I drive it daily through the winter. Its all parts for now, I could install some now, but I want to wait until spring and put them all on at once.
The plan is to install it all in a weekend at Robs, then take it to the body shop to get a complete re-spray. Staying black, just getting it all redone.

The exterior will consist of:
Import Fighter front and sides
03 Z rear
CF extractor hood
1 piece black projectors with HID's
Smooth trunklid
Tint the windows black as night
Thats all that I can think of right now.

The interior will consist of:
Complete Charcoal interior swap (Ugly ass tan interior will meet the garbage can)
B&M shifter
Yonaka Ronin black leather seats
Sparco black leather steering wheel
AEM UEGO wideband gauge
Autometer black face oil pressure gauge(mechanical)
Autometer black face boost gauge(preview for 2011)
Upgrading the stereo system, not really sure what Im doing with that yet though, Im open to suggestions though.

The suspension will consist of:
Urethane control arm bushings
Eibach front and rear sway bars
Gm rear tie bar
TTR front k-brace
Ground control coilovers with Koni reds (will be riding with about a 3.5 inch drop)
Welded rear strut tower bar triangulated with a piece welded at the back of the trunk
Welded front strut tower bar triangulated to the front frame rails
Wilwood 4 piston, 12.2 inch front brake conversion
SSBC 12 inch rear brake conversion
03+ non abs brake master and lines
17" Konig Hurry rims w/ Hankook Ventus R-S2 tires 225/45ZR17

The engine will Consist of:
Newer lower mileage engine
Secret cams
Aluminum under drive pulley
Pacesetter armor coated header
full 2.5 inch exhaust
Custom solid upper engine mount
Prothane lower engine mount
TTR tranny mounts
HO intake manifold with Phonelic spacer and HO throttle body
Battery relocated to the trunk
Possibly AC deleted, depends what its gonna cost to fix
Bulley stage 4 clutch
Aluminum flywheel
Engine bay repainted in completely flat black aswell as some engine pieces

All these parts except for a few small ones have been bought and are waiting to be installed, so it will be a crazy weekend of installing it all.

My goal with this car: Make a fast, reliable daily driver that will tear up the roadcourse on the weekends and will score a few points for the once a year I show it.

Pics of a few things that I hae waiting to go on.

Brakes.

Steering wheel.

Seats.

Sway bars.

Car with the front end and rims.

And finally, a possible preview for next year?:icon_poke:

The new engine with the underdrive pulley already installed. This will get cleaned and painted when it gets taken apart.

Rear trailing arm from the Sunfire. This will get cleaned and painted and have the SSBC brakes and sway bar on prior to installing it.

Couple of the exhaust components. Magnaflow resonator and Ractive muffler. And flame all you want, I have always loved the sound of the Ractive mufflers.

Pacesetter armour coated header and downpipe.

Couple blurry pics since I brought the camera inside from being outside in the cold.
My cluster/radio bezel, this pic doesnt do this justice, it is sanded smooth and painted gloss black and is flawless.

My hood waiting for re-install.

And finally, Leona in all her winter glory.

Well this past weekend, my throwout bearing blew and leaked out all the fluid, taking out the master cylinder aswell. I REALLY didnt want to put on the bully clutch just yet, but I didnt really have a choice...
Anyways, here are the pics, they are @!#$ty cell phone pics, so I apologize in advance for that.

New stuff waiting to go in. Bully stage 4 and machined flywheel.

Rob doing some subframe "modifications"

Old @!#$.

New stuff installed.

So far, it seems to grip very well, just as I expected from a Bully. I only drove it around the parking lot so far, gotta go later tonight to pick it up.

I will keep updating this thread as more work gets done...

Its not too bad at all. I have only driven about 15km on it since we just finished installing it today. So only time will tell once the break in period is done. I have loved all bully clutches that I have driven before this, so it made my decision simple.

i think i might go with a 4 puck just for the little bit smoother engagement kind of thing. idk let me know what you think.

Well I drove Chris' car with the 4 puck design and I LOVED IT.
Keep in mind that the 4 puck will have more of a harsh engagement than the 6 puck.

I love the car man. I really like that front end. Every time I see that front bumper It makes me want to do a front end swap. Is it going to see boost anytime soon??

The bully stg 4 is a beast. We ran it all last summer and didnt have any problems with it handling 440 hp. Engagement isn't all that bad either...

Thats what I have always noticed about Bully clutches. MUCH MORE streetable than the Spec's. Almost no clutch chatter, very predictable in terms oof engagement point. Almost feels like stock.
This car will see boost, just not sure when, hopefully next summer.

Re: Leona's thread

No chatter? My Bully chattered like a mofo on engagement and at shifts, but only if I was lazy with the shifting and also shifted at low rpm's. To get rid of the chatter I either had to shift quicker or shift at higher rpms, no baby shifting.

Re: Leona's thread

I have never had a bully that chattered. Specs on the other hand are garbage.

Little bit off thread, but where are you guys ordering your bully clutches for the ecotec?

Order them either straightfrom Bully, through Raven or from Lafngas.

I've been loving my Bully Stage 4 since i installed it in August. Similar thing happened to me (why it's installed on a completely stock LD9 ) I have a 4 puck, and i must say, it engages better then the OEM clutch that was in the car. Smoother, grabs quicker/ more quiet.
I wouldn't change it up for anything.

Oh, and if i remember correctly, when i was talking with Chris a while back, he said that you would most likely happen to have any videos of Sweetness from when she was first built. Any chance you could pm me a link to them? I just happened to not be frequenting the JBO much when the first engine build was done (when i had first joined the org.)

Oh wow, I think those are on a disc somewhere, maybe on my old computer, I would have to look. They are about 5 years old...

DO NOT GO THROUGH BULLY!!! LOL sorry had to. id go through scott(lafngas) bully emailed me with best price of $725 CAD, plus $25 CAD shipping, which is not bad. but then you tack on top of that the border fees which on a clutch that much would be INSANE. absolutely INSANE. If you go through scott, you get to save border fees for the most part. he quoted me a little more than bully for the base price and probably shipping, but the savings in customs is insane!

cant wait to see this thing back in its glory again soon.
