traklites, do you think this is worth it

I know this is a double post and wrong forum and all, I just need some opinions.

this is kinda a feeler
I hope I wont get in trouble for this by the mods

but I have a buddy that ownes a tire shop and he owes me a favour(and it still helps him) so he said that he would get me a crazy deal of a set of the traklites because he had someone backout of an order, and they kept the deposit.

so I can get a set of the 17X7 traklite 1 in flat black, 5 X100 with the 42 offset at a great price (I will say less than cost).

only thing is I don't need them because I have a set of the 17X8's on the way(same buddy at cost(got to love having friends in the right place)).

so I am just trying to see if anyone is interested in them?
I have to act fast because they are supposed to send them back in a few days If I don't want them.

so......what would you pay for the set of 4 new traklites?
tirerack has them for like 1300 or so shipped

please respond quickly because I need to let my buddy know asap
thanks for the opinions
cheers steve

this can be deleted in a few days. I just need some opinions on what I should do.
I figure why let a good deal go to waste hey, if someone else can get a good deal of it too, why not

Buy, sell for more.

Or buy for race wheels

i wasnt aware they made 17X7's... damn those badboys have got to be light as hell.. seeing as how the 17X8's are 13lbs and all.

failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

ya, the 17x7's are 14 or so pounds and the 8's are like 15 if I am not mistaken.

I am a little up in the air about it.
I am sure I can resell them for at least what I can get them for, so it is not a huge financial thing, but I don't know if I should keep them for another set of wheels.

I really don't need another set of wheels,
I have 2 sets with tires right now for my car, winters and all seasons,
a set of summers for the 17x8's
a set of beretta 16's that I don't know what I am doing with yet, a set of rusty 14 inch steelies,

and that is just wheels for my car,
that does not include the other set of winters tires and rims for my sisters car, a set for the girlfriends car, and 2 free sets(one for a 80's chev truck and another from a old roadrunner.

wow, I am such a packrat.
I really need to have a yard sale.

but.......
I could put the 7's up front and the 8's in the rear for a laugh

At one time, I was seeing 17"x7" traklites on ebay for just over a grand. Not sure if they're still selling, though. They dried up for awhile.

A more accurate observation has never been typed. These should be the starting points before any serious performance modification. What's the point of making a serious performer if you can't control it's power?
