FYI, when you put the prop rod through the latch striker like that put a zip tie on it.

very very very cheap insurance

Not totally true...I did that and it still happened to me Damage wasn't nearly as bad though, just a couple bent hinges, no busted glass.

Got a pic? That sounds ugly, but maybe if done right it might look OK.

Sucks about the hood, but good deal that you're covered for it.

PART II, sorry to hear about your damage. Your car was looking really good, as well as the rest of the cars in your club.

crazy looking car ^^^. if it had the window parts painted body color i think it would look much sweeter

OP: how did you end up with a free c/f hood, windshield and money?

^^i work at honda, so i went to our body shop and got an estamate... ended up being $1800, after my insurance picks thru everything and gives me their quote i sould end up with around 1200, so that will get my my hood, window, and the cash to do some rather EXTREME changes to the interior then i might actually keep it....

SOLD....

Love the car man, not a HUGE fan of how you divided the 2-ton but to each his own. Overall I love the colors, mods, and total look. Congrats on 2nd place!

About the first place car... You say he is a nice guy, but that does not exclude him from the harsh world of internet critics.. lol
1. He clearly does not daily drive with the windows and tv's like that.
2. Usually a crazy detailed paint job like that(especially since all the detail is focused ONLY in that area) is there to hide piss poor body work.
3. I find the car 100% ugly with every part I would NEVER put on a J.
4. Congrats on him showing that taste and quality of work has nothing to do with winning. It's all about quantity.(the quality statement here is based on the fact that you claim he still has some loose ends, even though they award him winning a non- under construction class....)

Yeah, the 1st place cav has been @ the Detroit Autorama for a couple years. It looked much better before he painted the windows, but as stated before it's a little too "Pimp My Ride" for me. Not into the whole crooked license plate thing either...
Lovin your car though! very clean!

1. doesnt really matter wether its a daily driver or trailer queen when being judged
2. people that compete at car shows don't do wild paint jobs to hide piss poor body work they do wild paint jobs to get peoples attention.
3. no comment
4. taste has nothing to do with how you judge a car. you dont jude a car on how you would build one buy by how well its built. to be in under construction its basically a
requirement to have about 75% primer on the car. so a few unfinished pieces here and there won't put you in an unfinished class. and dependant on points you can
have a few unfinshed things and still win over other cars if your other finished ares give you more points then the competitor.
