Funny thing about that... My dad says, "You should do this to make some extra money". The thing is I take my time and do a thorough job... If you wanna come to Lincoln and bring me the stuff Id do it. I love cleanin cars and also when they're Js.
looks great and clean. but you need new tires there hot rod. BADLY
On the other hand....you have other fingers.

Yeah I do... Im in the process of that right now
Cool. I have the megs clay bar kit, I ran it over my car a bit and it helped. But since I got it, it sat at the dealership for a really long time so its got a lot of water marks and crap etched into the paint so I'm gonna have to get a paint cleaner to get it all out.

is that stuff really dangerous to use on the paint? I hear if you press too hard you can actually strip the paint, that true?
looks good, only killers are you need to fix the filler panel on the rear and new tails. other than that, VERY sleek looking J. the drop and everything fits the wheels. it all pulls together very nicely.
Ugh the fitment in this pic is horrid. I can't beleive you even posted this pic.

I would highly reccomend avoiding taking pics that have people in the background too or anything for that matter that will distract from the car.

Riddle me this... riddle me that...
Is This What you Did
1,Wash-Dry
2,Clay Bar
3,Wash-Dry
4.wax
Or
1,Wash-Dry
2,Clay Bar
3,Wash-Dry
4.clay Bar
5,Wax
I usually do the First or Second one
The actual proper way to use a clay bar from about everywhere i have read plus talkin to some people who work at Mother (callin their hotline) is this:
1: Wash (hand was is best just because it removes the most loose dirt which makes the clay bar more effective)
2: Dry- make sure your car is really dry because the clay bar does not agree very well with the moisture besides the liquid provided in the package
3: Clay bar--- now im gunna give you alot of personal advice on this because everyone does it differently and Ive been told this is the best way to do it:
A) Spray a 2 sqaure foor area on the panel you are workin on- Make sure its enuf for the clay bar to slide along smoothly otherwise you risk messin up ur clearcoat.
B) Continue until that panel is finished then fold clay bar and stretch it again for next panel... this is necessary if you want best result from clay bar.
C) You may have some streaking from the spray you use but leave it there...
4: Wax-- now here comes the streakiness going away... go over whole car with wax application (Gold class or Meguiars NXT are best for show quality shine), let it sit for a couple
minutes then remove wax. You will see a difference but its not really the feel... run your hand across that paint now... feels like it just came out of the paint booth.
PS--- Do the wheel wells last because obviously there is alot of dirt and it works better to do it last for obvious reasons.
Thanks for all the compliments guy, it means alot. This car has been my baby and will continue to be for a very long time... I plan to keep this car until I have a kid who turns 16 then give it to them. This community is absolutely amazing and I couldn't ask for any better of people to have criticize/compliment my car.
Let me know if you have any more questions. My PM is constantly checked so feel free to drop me one. Once again, Thanks
Brandon
Good stuff man, looks like it turned out very well... I do it once a season because its just so time consuming to go through the entire process... it usually takes me a full days work.

As stated above, everything looks good except for the rear tail lamp filler panel in this pic.
You should be able to adjust it. It really sticks out like a sore thumb.
Otherwise, looks great!

for anyone who says tire shine... ignore them
no matter what when you put it on, it flings all over the side of the car. i hardly ever use it for that specific reason. and i get crap about it all the time

I used the same kit, had to push really hard in alot of spots to get stuff out, it didnt strip my paint at all, even used it on my friends spray bomb job and it didnt take out the paint, so I wouldent be to worry.
BTW car looks great, the Mothers kit works wonders, all I'll agree with is get new tails, altezzas are hurting it. And door peices for the skirts.
