although, hood pins wouldnt be such a bad idea and can really add to the look of the car when done right.

car looks hot. but honestly saying "the hood tries to come up, but i wont get pins" is like saying "i have cancer, but refuse treatment" you KNOW there is a problem and a fix... but just "wont" do it??

The vert is still beautiful and nice to see improvements on the paint, but you should consider something to keep the hood down, slide pins wouldn't look bad and at least they can't just fall off. Not that pins will fall if they're installed properly
well the only reason i put the tape on this time .. was for the long trip. i dont really need them ..

for my handles .. i just made sure any type of wax or grease wasnt present at all.. used duplicolor scratch filler primer and the bright red from duplicolor .. i spray one thin coat of primer down let it sit for a few seconds then wiped it off with a paper towel. this sort of caused the primer to really fill in the texture. did that twice the went ahead and layed down two coats of primer then painted it ..

Try moving the hood latch down some. I did on mine & it made a large improvement.
Used to bounce really bad.
Now not much at all.

i really liked the gt wheels better too. polish the face and paint the inner portion black, like the guy in your other post with the green sunfire did. as for the hood, i wouldnt worry about it, ive had my cf for 2 summers daily driving with no pins and no one issue. ive seen more issues of pins failing or forgetting to latch them than the hood failing.

even gorilla tape? oh it helped a whole lot actually for the trip. the hood didnt rise at all.. with out the tape the hood looked like it was popped open .. but i do understand the hood pins. but for this car that doesnt see the free way much .. im not gonna bother with it.

What was the process for taking your handles off, and how long did it take to get them off?
never took them off... just taped it off around the body ...
oh if done rite it will lood really good rattle canned... if you look at the teal cav .. the side view mirrors are also rattle canned ...

not at the moment .. cam has been dead for awhile n lazy to post up ... just make sure to prep your handles .. and around it .. i havnt had any chipping issues with my mirrors ever ... i also happend to paint my 03 cavies mirrors and they still looked good
