Sweetness: Spring 2008 Update
Tuesday, May 27, 2008 11:03 AM
Been a few months I figured I'd put up a few pictures showing some progress for once! It's been a long winter, I didn't touch the car after the bash last year... too much frustration. But I finally took the time to sit down and improve on some aspects of the car as well as fix some of the damage from last year.

New / Fixed items (most are not visible in the pictures lol)

- New Oil sending line, Oil restrictor, and oil return lines from ATP turbo
- New internal wastegate bracket that I cut and bent. 1/4" thick... much stronger than what i had
- New 100 psi MECHANICAL oil pressure gauge from Autometer. Much improved over the electrical.
- Nexen N3000 tires (not installed in these pics... while I realize they aren't high-traction tires for lots of HP they have tread and will do for daily driving for now)
- New Power Steering lines to replace the ones that were rubbed through last year.
- Repaired TIG welded downpipe... it sheared last year...
- New Isuzu Prothane front Transmission insert lathed to the size of the NVG and pressed in. A BAD transmission mount caused excessive movement in the engine shearing the DP and rubbing the PS rack.
- New front wheel bearings
- New CCFL Angel Eyes in the headlights with LED turn signals and re-shaped IZN TRBL lenses
- New Projector fog lights with 4300k HID kit... no the Angel Eyes aren't hooked up lol
- Switch for Fog lights installed in the interior beside the dimmer switch
- Rolled front and rear fenders (With the rear fenders being repaired as we speak. I don't recommend you do this mod if you don't have patience lol)

And the big mod, coming in a few weeks... (no pics as of yet)...

-Wilwood front Brake kit + Stainless Lines
-SSBC Rear brake kit with black powdercoated calipers

I'd like to thank Karo for getting the brakes to me at such a great price. Great guy to work with. Can't wait to get these on once I get the last part that they forgot to pack! I've been waiting YEARS to be part of the big-brake club!

And the pics.

Overall I'm really happy with the new front end look. I can't wait to get the brakes on and get some full pictures in with my Girlfriend... should be hot! (maybe even the car will be hot too lolol)

Comments good or bad are always welcome. To those who will mention the engine... yes yes I know I know dyno's dyno's... let me get it road-worthy first! I'll have it at the bash this year hopefully at a decently tuned 15 psi.... I'm doin my best!

looks good but the spoiler is not my thing. However your front end looks hot for sure. Where did you snatch up those projector headlights?

It's ok people are iffy on the spoiler. Some days even I hate it and others I like it lol.

The headlights are hand-made by myself. About 42 hours of work to get them to the completed state that you see, including wiring, relays, harnesses, proper soldering, painting, re-forming the lenses with a heat gun....

Not fun. But the results are worth it.

Wow! I really like the front end. It looks very aggressive. Love the wheels too. I think it would look better with out a spoiler, or maybe a smaller one. But other wise nice car!

Wow, I really like what you've done with the front end, the HIDs and the fogs really give it an evil, almost, menacing look. Looks great, and I know you mentioned it, but get it dyno'd!! haha

The front end update looks amazing. The projector fogs are a really classy touch. Talk about overkill . The engine bay is still looking sexy too. The way you relocated the coolant overflow for the charge pipe really looks clean. Can't wait to see your numbers man. Hopefully I can make it to the bash and see it in person.
