I had some free time at the beginning of the week before I started my new job so I snapped some final pics with the Z wheels. The Z wheels will be put away until next winter. My new wheels/tires showed up yesterday. The car just seemed incomplete without 17s. It’s finally to a point where I can stop spending money on it, other than the ridiculous price of premium gasoline, $3.61/gallon WTF.
Random pic of the car without the front bumper
And the new wheels and tires
For anyone that remembers what my last set of wheels looked like, these are the exact same ones in silver. Drag DR-17s with Falken Ziex Ze 912s. There was no need to shell out big money again for KDWs or any other high performance tire. The car probably won’t see the track at all this year. I just wanted something that would last for a while. So far, I’m very impressed with the wet traction of this tire.
I washed the car and had planned on making a trip to a nearby scenic area to snap some pics, but as soon as I finished drying the car it started raining, so pics were snapped in the driveway instead. Oh well
Yes, the lugs are red. People either love them or hate them. I wanted something different and these accomplished that.
Comments/concerns/questions/jokes about the red lugs, feel free to chime in
Side moldings are staying, no tint for the windows, I might adjust the ride height but that really depends on my mood. Just wanted to cover those things ahead of time because I’m sure those will be mentioned.
very nice rims, uh now do u wanna give me ur old OEM's? lmao.
"still want to smash that like the fist of an angry god"
looks awesome man..i like the red lugs..its unique. Your car also pulls off the stock Z's extremely well.
Awesome car!!! I agree with the red lugs, they look good on there! The new wheels are tits even though your car looked good with the stockers.
efffin sweet

Love it, totally my style. I'm jealous of that blown eco. very classy nice job
It's funny how alike your car is to where I wanted my car to be a while ago, only thing that's really off from it was the hood... Good choices
Love the rims too

Total sex dude.
On a side note, the 912's, there a fairly decent handling tire? I'm looking to get either those or AST's, but have not heard anything from anyone about either. Road noise, handling, wear, all that fun stuff
Again....seks.

Nice wheels man! I really like the red lugs.
I wish gas was that cheap here! Here in Canada premium is 4.78 a gallon and is supposed to be near 5.30 by the end of the summer, so consider yourself lucky. The wheels look really nice, but the blower is the best part.
Nice to see someone rock plain ole' silver again.................props.
Really clean looking.
I like.
i like it a lot. these are exactly the pics i was looking for.
Yeah the rims totally make the car. Love the style an color. They look like they belong on your car.
Thsoe are Drag rims right? Do you know the weight on them?
FORGET GIRLS GONE WILD WE HAVE GOVERNMENT SPENDING GONE WILD!
not feeling the hood i think the oem would look better but the rims are cool
Looks great andy. I realy liked the gunmetal/polished lip dr17's, but these look good and the red lugs add to it. You know you wana get to cecil this year though, Im going in a 2 weeks hopefully
And off topic, but could you send me some pics of your intake? I just got the fenderwell part of an ecotec aem intake to make my own but I think I need a longer 90* coupler. Just like some reference if ya dont mind

I’ve only put about 20 miles on the Falkens, but so far I’m very pleased with them. There is little to no road noise. I haven’t had a chance to try them out on dry pavement, but wet traction is very good. I’ll be able to give a more thorough review of the tires on Tuesday, after I run out to my townhouse in Harrisburg and finish moving all of my stuff out. 400 mile roundtrip yay
cOrpsemangler wrote:im prolly the only one who thinks the Z wheels look nicer.. anyways any reason for going with the same wheels just a diff color?
That 5 spoke style is basically the only type of wheel that I like. I liked how the silver z wheels looked with the car, so I figured a set of silver 17s would help keep the subtle look. I’ve done the whole dark wheels with a polished lip thing, and now it seems like everyone and their brother has dark wheels, so that also helped influence my decision.

If gas ever got that expensive here, I’d need to invest in a bicycle as my daily transportation

Yeah, they are Drag DR-17s. Supposedly they weigh somewhere between 17 and 18 pounds, but it feels like they weigh more. According to UPS, the wheel plus fully inflated tire (46psi wtf) weighed in a 55 pounds

PM sent. I don’t think I’ll make it out to Cecil at all this year. I moved back to Pittsburgh for a job. Cecil is just a little too far out of the way.
