1986 Cavalier Z24 2.8L V8 and auto trans
-Super rare only a few hundred 85-87 Z24 Covertibles were made and they were only available in California! Collectors car! I am the second ower. I have a copy of the original window sticker and all the reciepts from the Original owner. Also have all the manuals and paper work from when the bought it. LOW 115k miles! Clean title.
-Exterior: Brand new top with no damage, excellect body, shiny paint, ZERO rust, no body damage, only minor parking lot dings and paint chips from rocks on hood and front end. Power top works flawlessly. Tires have 95 percent tread. The cleanest vintage Z24 I have seen!
-Interior: Like new condition, no rips, tears, or strains. No cracks in dash. Comes with ipod/cd deck which plays and charges your ipod. Rare drivers side power seat.
-Mechanical: Runs excellent! Can be used as a daily driver. I am employed as a mechanic and I have done extensive work to it since I bought it. New radiator and hoses, heater core, struts, shocks, tie rods, front brake pads and rotors, EGR, coolant temp sensor, PS pump, belt, tensioner, idler pully, plugs and wires, steering rack, weather stripping along the convertible top, all new vacuum lines and more. Runs perfect, idles great, trans shifts smooth.I have also done all the maintinence including oil changes, trans services, cool flushes, oil filter and fuel filter.

RIP JESSE GERARD.....Youll always be in my thoughts and prayers...
I had an 86 Z24 hatchback. When I bought it, it has some surface rust and needed a little header panel repair. I bought the 87 Z cowl hood and repainted the car black with the ground effects and hood scoops silver. I loved the car, but I paid $650 for it, put maybe $350 (nut a hundred hours probably lol) into it, and someone I used to work with offered me $2000. I sold it, and 2 weeks later he ran a red light and was t-boned.... It was a sad day for me, I wish I would have kept it and dropped a 3400 or something in it.
thats pretty sweet for a 20 year old car. can anyone verify if those z verts were really cali sale only? cause that doesnt sound right...
lenko! wake your brilliant canadian ass up and find out for us
coming back in 2008...
Ooooo snazzi! I'd rock it.
Almost makes me miss the no-frills console of the '86 I had. Just kidding

Not right at all.. he's trying to make his car sound good... in it's condition it may be rarer than most... but I wouldn't call one of thousands rare to begin with.
Convertibles started in January 1983. Production numbers:
1983 model year - 627
1984 - 5,486
1985 - 4,109
1986 - 5,785
1987 - 5,826
Keep in mind, those are JUST Cavalier numbers. There were other models too. And they were definitely available everywhere... unless he's referring to some California special model that no one else knows about...

really ? you know its here in northern california right? haha
Hmm... the Ebay listing says this:
Quote:
only a few hundred 85-87 Z24 Covertibles were made and they were only available in California! Between 85 and 87 only the RS model Cavalier was available as a convertible. So GM installed the special Z24 package on a handful of RS's and sold them in California.
I know there's a 86 or 87 Z24 'vert around here... so it couldn't be just California. I wonder if that has something to do with emissions??
