Well, im still around and still slowly building the car. Ill be honest, I have been in no rush whatsoever. I have had a lot of things going on the past year that has been more important than the car... but dont worry, itll get done and hopefully be everything ive hoped for. Things should move along much faster once we get all this engine stuff sqaured away. The Ecotec swap w/ custom turbo set up is complete and does run. It needs dyno time and tuning at this point. The pic below is not a finished product. It just shows we have the engine in the car and it is operatable. We have more to add and a lot to clean up before it is a show quality engine bay but thus far I have spared no expense. The engine features: 05 Ecotec in 01 Cavalier w/ less than 10k original miles, RKsport Upper motor mount, Prothane lower motor mount and transmission mounts, BandM short shifter, SPEC Stage 3 clutch and flywheel, t3t4 turbo, Tial Wastegate, HKS blow off valve, custom turbo manifold, greentop injectors, relocated battery to trunk, custom intercooler piping, Precision Turbo massive intercooler w/ notched frame to fit it, ceramic coated turbo housing+intercooler piping+valve cover, carbon fiber Autometer gauges (air/fuel ratio, volts, oil temp, oil pressure, boost, egt, water temp, transmission temp). We still need to reroute the exhaust w/ no cat and 3 inch piping and install the carbon fiber muffler. We also need to get the boost controller wired in and tune the car w/ HP Tuners. There are also a lot of other goodies I will add to the engine once everything as far as the swap and tuning is finalized but I have listed above the main parts to complete a quality swap.
Id like to thank John Higgins and Robert Green of MD Motorsports for all their hard work and attention to detail. They are the guys making this happen.
I also wanted to have a one off custom full roll cage in the car. Here are progress pics of what Robert built according to my design. This is an RKsport bar that has been heavily modified. These pics are a bit old and I do not have ones showing the cage going through the front half of the car and into the dash so the rear end will have to do for now.
Great welding Robert!
And here are some pics you may have already seen of the front end I custom built to accomodate the massive intercooler.
Hope you like!!! Is very nice!!! (insert Borat voice). FYI, the car will be sporting a full carbon interior, new body work, a new color and a new wheel sponsor for 08. Besides that it will have a lot of other new stuff and im hoping everyone will be pleased with the new look.
In the meantime, ive got a new toy....lol

Is there a 03+ swap in the mix too...or is the hood just to cover the bay up?
Your car will always make me drool.
Roll cage looks great. Just hope you never actually use it. It's not fun.

No offense to AJ
but it's probly more for show then anything, remember queenZ? yeah she had a tractor trailer intercooler on there (not literally, but as big) but it was a trailer queen.
AJ's car probly is not a trailer queen, but more geared for show
