Well folks here we are again at the end of another season. The car was officially pulled off the road last weekend and this coming weekend I am starting to pull it all apart again.
The car worked flawlessly over the summer and I thought that I would make a post to let everyone know how it turned out. I ended up putting a little over 4000kms on it over the few months that it was on the road. I didn't end up tuning the car for race fuel as I just didn't have the time to make the 4 hour drive to the dyno to get it dialed in. All summer I was running on a 91 octane pump fuel tune running 15psi and stock timing putting down 451whp and 421wtq. With that being said the car was able to pull a best time at the track of 11.57@126mph with a 1.91 60ft time. The car does not hook up at the track till 4th gear on the 8" slicks that I was running. I probably would have had better luck with some coilovers and larger slicks but I can't complain with how it ran. Plus I was the only one in my class who could change tires at the track and drive it home, no trailer required.
I am trapping at 6600rpm in 4th gear at the line so my mph is pretty much tapped unless I move to a bigger slick. I do have a plan to fix that issue so stay tuned over the winter.
I do have video of some passes but they were not taken by me and I am trying to track them down now, I will post them up as soon as I get them.
Toward the end of the season I entered my car into Sport Compact Performance 8 in Montreal along with Brad's (DoubleZ) convertible. This show is one of the biggest if not the biggest show in Canada now a days. Now my car is no show car and it never will be but we did our best in a week to get it ready for the show scene. For this show we redid the interior, installed a roll bar and even installed a stereo in my car...yes thats right, for the first time in 6 years my car has a stereo.
Brad and I were in the j-body/cobalt class, Brad won 1st place and I got 2nd place behind him which was pretty cool because they only awarded top two in each class. The top GM guys were there to unveil the new Saturn Sky that the top tuner team built and they were very impressed with what they saw.
I am rolling an idea around in my head now on what to do next to the car. I am 95% sure that I will be taking on another very unique project with the car over this winter. I am still not 100% sure yet because this new idea will take 200+ hours of work and probably another $10k worth of parts and supplies. I am not sure how my gf would react to such a project so I will have to see what happens. If I do go through with it it should be pretty crazy and might just make the car capable of 9 sec passes.
Anyway here are some pics of the car from through out the summer and as soon as I get the vids I will post them up as well.
And here is a pic that I got at the show

Thanks everyone.
The cage is the car is actually a pre made cage from S & W Racecars. It took a little bit of trimming to get it just where I wanted it but it was very straght forward. I think we had the cage installed in about 3 hours. I also have the side door bars that come down to the firewall I just haven't installed them yet.
