My Project
Sunday, July 08, 2007 6:21 PM
I've been reading the org for roughly 2-3 years now.. pretty much ever since I got interested in the J-Body platform and I figured it's time to post the project I've been working on with the help of my parents since I was 15 (I'm only 17 right at the moment so don't bash the parents thing)

Anyways, enough of the back story

The Car:
2002 Cavalier Coupe "VL" (it's some odd canadian model)

Engine:
2.2L 2200 SFI

Mods:
Alpine/Pioneer Sound system
Drift body kit
Ebay L.E.D M3 mirrors
Ebay Clear Corners
95-99 Inner Tails
Shaved Spoiler
Shaved Emblems
Clear HVAC knobs
Ebay short shifter (working on getting a b&m one the ebay one was a bad idea...lesson learned) and thats it for mods I think

Here's some pics

C&C welcome, also I know I need some wheels/tires so throw in some suggestions and opinions on size/color etc.

Thanks for looking

Nice looking car. Is that a GM blue? It's nice. I'm partial to polished AL wheels, myself.

Looks good..

I like the direction you started with it.....

Re: My Project

not bad. looks good.

as you know it needs rims. before rims it needs a drop and some L brackets to fix the sag in the rear

I think you should have done rims and tires before the body kit. Sticking a body kit on a car that otherwise looks just like any other econobox does nothing for me. I do give you props on getting it painted instead posting pics of an unpainted body kit on your car.

I agree..it's lookin good..my old 00 Z was that color..but I would have dropped it and put rims on before the body kit..but keep it up

Being that its a Canadian car..... tell me something...... Do you have a Tach, and if not, whats your cluster look like?

One last thing, where is your stock front bumper?

Looks pretty nice!

Good start for sure!

I'd go with a chrome or gun metal rim, 18s without even thinking about it!

Get some L brackets on that rear bumper too...the sun hits that too long and you'll not fix it!

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

Great start. Definately get some wheels on that, at least some 17".

I want your cluster for starters...... Trade you a US cluster with Tach, or I have a Canadian cluster here with Tach...... just not sure if that one works 100%

Then..... I would love to buy your front bumper off you...... if you can get it shipped, shoot me a price (zip 53124)

18" DP10's FTW

Re: My Project
Tuesday, July 10, 2007 7:27 PM
for me
I like the first one, still has the black(something I want), but is a nice color(or lack of color), but would look really good, might have to check them out myself. I have been trying to find a nice set of 18 that I like, but everything I have seen does not jump out at me like I should get it.

looks great....good job for being 17. yeah like everyone has said, rims and a drop are needed.
