Tuesday, July 03, 2007 6:00 PM
After three days of afternoon rain, I'm finally done and so happy with the outcome.
I know that I don't see enough 95-99 Z's with these so enjoy.

Comments and criticism welcome.

bugs in florida are vicious...

exterior is done except for the repaint i am saving up for
a synthetic wax helps but doesn't change color, lol

Is it just me or does the whole front end look out of whack?

Not just you.

Do you have the metal pieces in which the plastic on the back of the headlamp and the corner light posts slide into? Looks like they're missing due to the horrible allignment.

Other than that, look pretty good. I'd say paint is a must.

Please, just get a 2k bumper!

Looks to me like the bumper (gap between bumper and fender) , headlights and hood (sitting high on pass. side) are not sitting just quite right... looks like it has the potential to look good tho with a little more work.

it unique but cutting that bumper really messes with the original shape of it and the stock look

also things are out of line and such

not YET something i would say im proud of, but you do have good work into it, so congrats, you're just about half way there

He has the brackets... I sold them to him.

Omar, make sure you screw them in underneath where the headlight slides in. Also, I'm not sure if you did this or not, but don't forget to cut the OEM fenders and remove the old corner bracket.

If all else fails, you may have to bend them a bit to get them to line up. They were off the car for over a year and a half now, so they may have been slightly twisted between moving ish around.

uh kinda hard, hed need a new bumper since he had to cut this one

if you align the headlights it should look better
personally, it now kinda looks like a basemodel because the headlights are so much bigger, they make the bumper seem smaller

i have the brackets and am aware that i am indeed halfway there. the problem lies in the fact that no one on the org really explains how to do this and i am still tweaking the nessecary to fix it. the fenders are bent out some and brackets need to be cut. from the 00 brackets to the fender and bumper, there is a hole for the set screw that needs space so everything is in place. I'm going to find a material to help fill the gap under the headlights and finish this project.

i never said i was done but all the comments are okay still. the hood was never aligned from the day i got it and that's because i really don't see a need to align it until repaint.

and as for going back, i have an extra Z24 bumper if i want to. i can't wait til i paint the car.
thanks everyone for the comments.

I remember a full detailed write up YEARS ago, when people first started doing the swaps. However, I just did a search and the archives only go back to November of 2002. One of the posts I made was posting back then stating to search older posts.

yeah, i looked EVERYWHERE for info and i think i over came three problems to do this conversion along the way.

i realize i'm not done and wanted to post a detailed How To but just added to the sticky.
i just need to cut the 00-02 bracket and bend the fender a little to get this done but rain isn't helping.

thanks muffin
