Just want some pics to see how some of you are holding your Optimas down. My car (used) didn't come with a battery hold down of any sort. Got an Optima now but I don't want it to just bang around in there.
Pics please. And also where I can get it.
go to a junk yard and hope to find the little battery tie down, its a rubber wedge looking peice that bolts to the bottom of the battery tray and holds the battery down.
i say hope to find one because i doubt yull find a battery in a car at a yard, if your lucky though the rubber wedge will still be there.
should be less than 5 bux i would assume.
Get the regular battery bracket from a GM dealer. That's what I used on mine. (It was missing when I bought the car years ago)
You can see it in this pic. It's held in by a 12 or 13mm bolt, so make sure you get the bolt, too.

Yeah, I've seen that on my dad's Hemi Ram. Just wanted something a little better looking, and thought I saw a couple guys on here with a billet piece.
well, you can actually buy a billet battery tray/tie down on ebay made specifially for optima batterys, i do believe most of them are under $100 shipped and look freaking amazing. u may have to cut out your stock battery tray though, idk how well it would fit, maybe you could just hammer down the spots that stick up to make for a flat mounting surface.
If you want the Billet ones, they are all over ebay. Just search" optima billet".

When I bought my optima, it came w/ an adapter that works perfectly.
I bought a billet mount for mine, pounded down some high spots on the stock tray and voila! sorry no pics though
