This past weekend I went with a few JBOM friends to go autoxing....long read...but a good one
I was with Brandon(cavfan1), Mitch (mwisz), and OG Nick(OG NICK OMGDUH) Brandon was pretty much my mentor...did horrible on my first 2 runs, didn't even run out the end of the course cuz I was confused as to where the finish line was haha. Big thanks to Mitch for letting me run his 17's since I was still on my snow tires lol
On the 3rd run, I broke a shift cable comin out the gate headin into 2nd gear. so i finished that lap using only 1st gear..limped the car back to the parking lot to see what went wrong and discovered the broken cable. Found out there was a U Pull It a few miles away open on a Sunday. So we went and got 2 new cables (7 bucks!!!) and got back to the lot, installed them in time to be last car, last run, so I even got to get all 4 of my runs in. I felt like I just completed the mission on Monster Garage completing the car with seconds to go before the bigrace at the finale lol
This vid is my 4th run, I did a few fun runs afterwards, which were all 58 second runs. This particular run was 60 seconds. There's 2 spots at the beginning where I must have accidently bumped the shifter and knocked it out of gear, you can see the one really well.
Overall...best time of my life ever!!!! Will be doing again many times this summer

Auto-crossing really opened my eyes up a lot. I got a better feel for my vehicle, I know what it will do at certain speeds in turns, how well my brakes will hold up, everything. Definately a confidence builder, especially for a person who trusts no one elses driving habits, like me. I've been in too many car accidents that weren't my fault. I am a huge fan now, so you can take your quarter mile and shove it

I thought I saw a wheel come up too...which is crazy considering what I had. My springs are OLD. They've been on this car for 5 years, on stock struts. That is the end of my suspension modifications. It's a crap suspension honestly, however considering...it handles well lol

Zombie Benji - I could not agree more, quarter mile just doesn't seem worth my time lol. I'd rather autox my car, then drive an 11 second quarter mile in any other car.
I have some misfiring issues in my bottom rpms, I really need to address those so I can come out the corners better.
