This car is a work in progress. Im hoping to have this things ready for the JCO bash in early June. So here it is from when i got it in the fall till now.
I got the car looking like this.
With this under the hood.
I was able to get everything needed to do a Getrag swap worked into the deal, so off came the front end and out came the grinder!
The first fit to tac weld in the rear mount.
And finally mounted for the first time with the new bracket. The engine/wiring and PCM are from a 99 with no EGR and the Tranny is from an 02.
Outside the garage running for the first time, I did all this work in a week working evenings.
After the first drive around the block, yes, I drove it like this!!
I threw on my buddies 18s for a couple weeks, this is what it looked like then.

I then drove it around all winter looking like this.
I was really planning on leaving it like this, just getting a CF hood, black 18s and be happy with it, but one day at work, I came out to this, with no note or anything left...
I came across a stupid killer deal on a drift kit recently, and i figured that since I was going to repaint the car anyways and I have always loved that kit, why the hell not? SO I got it, along with a new trunklid since mine was dented since I got the car. So this is how it looks as of today, I have a parts car showing up soon with my new door and I have a new fender sitting in my garage, in a couple weeks it goes off to Desired Customs in Niagara Falls for the makeover.
Since I got the car on the road, I have always felt like my car was some kind of freak, so has anybody else that has either driven it or been in it, it just feels faster than any other NA 2.4. I am by no means calling it really fast, but for what it is, I think it is pretty quik. This is a video that I shot of the speedo, you be the judge...

u should get a fire drift front and swap front ends since its getting painted anyways unless u have other plans for the sunfire

As for swapping a Sunfire front, no way, I already have one Cavfire and I owned a different one until I got this car, NO MORE CAVFIRES!!!! lol.

A turbo charged eco 5 speed swap into a 98 Z24 auto.
My Cavfire that is getting a dohc V6 possibly with a 6 speed.
This car, plus I am doing alot of the work to the black 03 Z in the backround. Plus I gotta strip down that green fire for the wreckers and an 01 SunfireGT is showing up this week for parts, so I gotta strip that too!

Interior is just about done. The rims and tires are getting done, Baer brakes, new front and rear bumpers, full paint, full exhaust and getting re-tinted.
As for mine, yeah, its staying white with a little twist though.
I got drift sides. I cant stand the drift rear, for me, its one step above a bomex rear! I will be having the sides customized a little, I dont really like how they look without the door skins.

So what rear is that then?
I think its called the black widow or something, not really sure, but I have always liked it.
Nice darren. Make sure you cut off the part of the drift sides that goes up the quarter panel, and just use the side skirt piece, and mold it in. a few guys have done that here and it looks perfect.
Cant wait to see her painted dude.
