Nice engine build! Can't wait to do mine next season.
Can't wait to see the alky nozzle install, I would do the same myself if I hadn't sold my M45 and CoolingMist kit, that's why I tossed up that spacer as I knew it'd help someone out. Make sure you tap it all pretty for the nozzle.

Yup, drove all the way down to Milwaukee to pick them up. Thanks again Tom!
And yes, my g/f has a sis, but she just had her first baby and just got engaged, so that's outta the question. And her mom is happily married, lol. Sorry to disappoint...

everything looks good.......
EXCEPT that fail safe thermostat....... its a POS, I used the same thing, and it sucks. The spring is WAY to weak, its in Chris's cav now....... during that cold snap a few weeks ago, it didnt go above the very first line on the temp gauge. It also has 2 clips that hold the thermostat open the very first time it gets hot, and doesnt let it close (you have to pull it out, and cut those damn things off...... )
Oh yea, whats up with the 4 extra injectors

im guessing hes talking about adopting a chinese kid
^^Ahhh.....no my parents had this in process long before Angeline Jolie did....After 3 1/2 years of paperwork, it finally went through. I wasn't a big fan of the whole thing, b/c that's where my my supposed money went that was supposed to help me through college, but oh well. The little squirt grew on me, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Anyway, thanks for all the comments so far.
I had another post going about the placement for an oil return line. (I plan on going turbo next year when I have more cash.) A few people mentioned tapping in the block. What is the advantage to doing that over placing it in the oil pan?
And Brian, I may have those extra four injectors for Team GREEN :-) My roommate wants them for his project car though, so I told him he has first dibs.
Also, I have a question abut the 2.3L oil pump swap. What size drill bit has to be used for drilling the diagonal and vertical holes for the new oil feed route? I gotta let the machine shop know how big to go. I remember reading about it somewhere, but I can't remember what size it was. Maybe it was the size for a 3/8" NPT tap...I don't remember.

well let me know if those 4 need a home, I could find a use for them.
I believe my oil feed holes are 1/2" Gary I believe posted up a size in my old 2.3Oil pump vs. machine shop thread.....
Return line into the block....... no oil back-up for one (can happen when you drain into the pan)..... I'm sure there is other reasons as well.

LOL, I know, I know. Funds are limited though...The motor comes first, since I am now without a car to drive. Then if I have anything left over, I'll get some Toyo tails :-)

damn, nice pile of parts. Looks like that set you back a pretty penny.
As far as the oil drain into the block, I thought about doing it when my turbo had problems draining at first. I tapped the oil pan, and thought the oil level wasn't below the tap, and not letting oil drain. But that wasn't the problem, i just tapped it too far down. I think thats why some people tap the block , to make sure theres no oil in the way to block the drain.

Yeah, I've been trying to even out the time between my car and my g/f. I already got the speech about how I spend more money and time on my car than her, so I gotta be careful. But all is good. I think I have found a happy medium that both are content with :-)
Yeah, they are definitely going to get a nice tax return because of the adoption. I doubt I will see much of the money though. I think most of it is already spent on the new addition on their house to accommodate for the little one :-(

Well, just dropped off the block at the machine. He looked at the pics for drilling the new oil feed hole for the 2.3L pump, and he said it will be no problem. He's just going to make a jig to hold the drill at the right angle, and go from there. Should be done in about two weeks. Yay!
